I was listening to the Unspooled podcast on this movie and they pointed out something that I hadn't thought of before. Of course the story goes that an actual fight was plotted out, but when it came to film it, Harrison Ford was too sick and he suggested just shooting the guy. What I never thought about was imagining the weeks that the stuntman had trained for the fight and it was just for absolutely nothing.

I think I read a article that he didn't mind this at all because he is more well known for that moment than he would have been for just another fight with Ford that nobody remembers the other guy from.

The Quick And The Dead had some unique duels, owing to Sam Raimi's distinct style and a traditional Western movie setting.

We have to include the Donald vs. Daffy piano duel from Who Framed Roger Rabbit.

I love the duel in Hook. It's not flashy or anything, but there's so much charisma jumping off the screen between Robin Williams and Dustin Hoffman. It's too fun not to love.

Pretty sure a while ago some other forum was having this exact same discussion and someone referenced “The Duellists” and the watching some of those clips, holy shit, love the realistic nature of them.
I know the one in Die Another Day gets some love.

I know the one in Die Another Day gets some love. Die Another Day gets no love. As for The Duelists, here's the first one. The rest of the movie features the two main characters doing just about every type of duel imaginable in the time. Very good movie.
