So because I didn’t want to make a separate thread for this yet, guess what the new tag line for Extreme Rules is? “The Horror Show” Yes. Yes. There’s misreading the room once with “ The Risk is Worth the Reward” and then there’s just walking into the room blindfolded bumping into everyone. And the Risk line was the DO-OVER from “Climb the Corporate Ladder” wasn’t it? You know, after they’d just cut a bunch of people? In retrospect, the bit with Vince and the hand sanitizer during the ladder matches takes on a harsher context, in light of the horror stories we’re hearing. |

It isn't just wrestling. EVERYBODY is being stupid. Sports in general are opening even as more and more players test positive. States are opening and then getting hit with higher spikes in weeks. It's a problem with the country in general. Even though I heard that one of my favorite pastimes, which is going to the movie theaters, is coming back, I'm not even sure if I am ready to even do that. Even though I don't like wearing masks, at least I try to be smart about it. |

WWE had a conference call with Sports Hiatus with WWE EVP of Global Head Sales and Partnership, John Brody and their response to all this was basically “If you could hand us a shovel, we’re going to dig ourselves further down”. I did happen to get a peek at a rejected script for next week's commentary and it goes something like:
Cole: You just have to watch Raw, it's contagious viewing
JBL (who's there for some reason): Rollins has such an infectious personality, his influence is spreading like a virus.
Cole: I may not like his methods, but the results are nothing to be sneezed at.
And the serious part of this post: I feel this is gonna be one of those threads where we keep thinking it can't get worse and yet it somehow always does.
