World Wrestling Entertainment is facing a series of positive test results for COVID-19, PWInsider.com can confirm. On Monday, WWE began emailing talents and staff, advising them that there had been a new COVID-19 positive test result, advising them to again get tested for COVID-19. We are told that not all talents were contacted at the same time. We have since heard that there have been multiple positives coming out of the new round of tests. One source believed the positives to be in the "two dozen range" but PWInsider.com has not yet been able to vet that is accurate beyond confirming that there are multiple positives. The positives are said to be across the board - talents, production and staff. What this means for Friday's scheduled Smackdown taping remains to be seen. We are told Friday's episode would likely need to be re-written in the wake of the positives. It should also be noted that WWE had "friends and family" at their last two TV tapings, the second of which was pushed back a day after a positive COVID-19 test came back for a WWE NXT developmental talent who was last at the PC on 6/9. PWInsider.com is told that if Friday's taping moves forward, there will not be "friends and family" invited. www.pwinsider.com/article/137423/wwe-facing-multiple-covid19-positives-updated.html?p=1This sound really bad.

Gotta feel bad for the WWE.
Who could have possibly known that doing nothing wouldn’t mitigate the effects of a global pandemic?

I seriously wouldn't mind re-runs of RAW, Smackdown and even Nitro airing for a few months instead of live shows.

I might need to stay away from this board for today because the more I look at this thread the more sick to my stomach I'm getting with every bit of extra news on the subject.

Oh boy. Blood may very well be on WWE's hands. That's not good.

It's sad because for a while, it seemed as if there was a glimmer of hope of containing this. Until Florida just had to re-open without meeting the metrics necessary for a successful re-opening.

With all the changes around AEW this week I have a feeling stuff's going to start swirling. I don't think they're going to stop operations, though. The reality is they'll probably just swap out people, MLB is talking about a team or two of replacements, i'm sure the same is true here. It'd take something dire (and to be clear, god forbid) for them to change things, IMO.

Yes, their next taping was scheduled for Friday as this week's SmackDown hasn't been done yet.

It isn't just wrestling. EVERYBODY is being stupid. Sports in general are opening even as more and more players test positive. States are opening and then getting hit with higher spikes in weeks. It's a problem with the country in general. The sad thing is, if every state did what NYC/NJ did, which was a 2 month full shutdown followed by slowly easing restrictions, then we’d likely be in a much better place as a country. Unfortunately, some states took it seriously, and others didn’t care at all, and unfortunately all of us were the pawns in that game. I think part of the problem is that in America the response got heavily politicised. Most of the countries with better outcomes managed to treat it in bipartisan fashion as a matter of public health, but sadly that wasn’t going to happen in America.

If people feel comfortable performing, let them It isn't just about them. These people are traveling back and forth across the country and with that comes putting not only themselves and their families but anyone they come across in the process of traveling - people on planes, folks at gas stations, whatever - in danger of catching something from them. Whether or not you're willing to take the personal risk shouldn't have any bearing on if you're allowed to endanger other people. You would hope WWE has rented out isolation apartments or a nearby hotel for positive tests to stay for the isolation period. Not seeing family or friends > travelling and endangering lives. Like I said in the other thread, I wouldn't worry too much about them, but they could be in contact with moderate to high risk people (Roman Reigns obviously in that category)
