I mean AEW was probably interested, and I don’t think that Punk wants to wrestle anymore so he probably quoted them a ridiculous price and wouldn’t budge and if they actually paid it he would take it, but AEW isn’t ran by Eric Bischoff ao they weren’t that dumb. This was the first thing I thought of. It seems right down his alley. It’s also a great way to shut down negotiations so they don’t keep coming back with counter offers.

How the f*** would Konnan know anyway? lol Konnan is a very connected dude. If I expected someone to have a scoop, honestly, he'd be up there. That said, we know Khan did want Punk, and Punk has suggested something was floated at him, but perhaps without commitment, though given his ties to UFC at the time, I don't know how much they could earnestly try to offer him anything without possibly being legally liable. In any case, kinda glad Punk *didn't* come to AEW. Dude did a lot of shit to kill my respect for him. Glad Colt joined instead.

"Astronomical?"
I suppose Konnan would know, given his past as a space traveler. Punk must've wanted some of that moon money.

Good lord, imagine if Punk wasn’t his insufferable self and pitched a reasonable amount? The last thing AEW would need is Punk. Financial incentive? Eh. Maybe. But as others have alluded, personality and goal-orientated wise, I think he’d be corrosive.
As a former Punk fan, I hope wrestling stays far away. Seems he’ll be happier that way.

Tony: "Like, a prop from the Avengers? I mean, I'm sure I could put out some feelers." Punk: "No. I want the Infinity Gauntlet." Tony: "Okay, you've literally written for Marvel Comics, so you know it's not real. Are you just naming things I couldn't possibly get?" Punk: "Now you're getting the picture."

I can see Punk floating out a huge figure almost as a way to see how "serious" AEW was with their offer and if they matched, he'd go. If not, then in his mind, they didn't want him enough. I call situations like that the Gobstopper test. So if Cody and Khan had agreed, Punk would have welcomed them into his chocolate factory.

He's not worth it at tho point, the UFC run and his WWE talk show killed much of the value in his return to wrestling, and his treatments of Cabana burned a lot of his fans.

It's clobbering time!" *Punk throws a punch. His face suddenly meets with Marko Stunt's hand and Punk is out cold.* Marko:" wow, he's knocked out. I was just reaching for the box of cookies next to him."

Punk would be worth an “astronomical” amount of money once fans are back. Could push them well over a million viewers consistently.

The rumors say Punk wanted 20 million.

A lot of things from Konnan I would take with a grain of salt but in this case I believe it. Punk I don't think wants to wrestle again. He said it several times since leaving he lost that passion and Punk is just that guy who attitude fits into that. It always been fans just wanting to wrestle and want him back, and it hasn't really mattered what his thoughts on it had been. In his prime there been interviews saying Punk would have retired and not wrestle in his 40s. He now 41 and while no question likely could still do it and do it good enough to have a great match, I wouldn't be all that surprised he stick to that either.
Now I doubt the rumor of 20 Million but I'm sure it an insane number. Punk would make sure he was the highest paid guy on the roster with a ton of perks that would make Hogan WCW contract jealous. The real question because AEW being the only place that could realistically pay that kind of contract outside the WWE. Would he be worth it. That is of course he gets out of his Fox contract which don't know what that deal was. But since the only show he was brought it for is cancelled what does that leave him anyway. No question Punk would bring the ratings to a Million and AEW staying around that if he did go and be an active roster member. That's the thing for Punk to be a draw, he has to do what fans want him to do. A Host or lets say authority figure wouldn't work, the same way Hogan in TNA didn't work because that role isn't want fans want to see him doing.
The biggest issue with Punk and AEW outside of that would be Colt Cabana and there issue. Can they co exist?

Punk has a lot of name value and could instantly be slotted in as a main eventer. Unless he's in dire straits financially he'd be stupid not to ask for an "astronomical" amount of money.

It doesn't surprise me. Unless most of his contemporaries, Punk doesn't define himself through the business and doesn't need to be a part of it. He made his money and held onto it, so he doesn't need the payday.
If the money is ridiculous, he'd be a fool not to sign, but he also doesn't have the financial need or psychological dependence on the business to come back simply for the hell of it. (The Fox gig was basically free money since Punk had barely watched wrestling after his wife left WWE. Punk mentioned how he'd started watching again after signing the Fox deal.)

Punk would be worth an “astronomical” amount of money once fans are back. Could push them well over a million viewers consistently. I doubt it, unfortunately. We've seen over the past three decades that quick fix signings boost ratings for a week but don't stick around once the thrill of the new has worn off. It's long term booking that makes the number climb higher.

Not talking about way past their prime stars but those that can still “go,” which I assume Punk at his age can still do. I mean AEW has had long-term booking but their numbers have still been falling.

AEW would be better served building for the future rather than throwing seven figure deals at Punk for a few weeks of increased ratings. I like Punk, but signing someone who clearly doesn't want to be there and has made it abundantly clear he's only doing it for the money nearly killed TNA and has done bugger all for the WWE with Lesnar, Gronk and others.
