Doing the trial for Britbox now. So far I have these shows watchlisted: Are you being Served? Father Ted Fawlty Towers Keeping Up Appearances Last of the Summer Wine Mock the Week
What else can you recommend this Yank from Newest York? Only looking for comedy.

Peep Show This Country The IT Crowd
Dad's Army
Assuming they're all on there.
Some of the older ones are a bit dated and I'm not sure they'd be suited to streaming, I'd start with Fawlty Towers out of that lot.

Yes and yes. This Country is probably the funniest new(ish) British sitcom I've seen.
Assuming they're on there, Knowing Me Knowing You and I'm Alan Partridge are well worth seeking out, The Office too. And also The Day Today and Brass Eye, which are not only hysterically funny, but very biting satires of news and current affairs programming that are still worryingly relevant twenty plus years after they were made.

Thanks for the suggestions. Sadly though, The Office is the only one on there but I have watch listed it.

From that wrestling reference in the first episode This Country had been my favourite comedy in years, probably since The Office. It should be better known, I doubt I'd have watched it if not for lockdown. Baffling. It's deeply worrying how often it resonates, the dialogue is so true to the way people speak in real life it's scary.

"Yes Minister" and the follow-up "Yes Prime Minister" are fun looks at the inner workings of politics, I'd love to see that series again.
Is "Chef" on Britons? That's another I haven't seen for years and remember loving it.

I have no idea if they're on there, but Only Fools and Horses, Open All Hours, Porridge and Rising Damp are all essential watches.

Let's see....
Ab Fab (anything before Last Shout at least) Hetty Wainthropp (shows Pat Routledge could do lots more than Hyacinth) I'm a sucker for things Mary Berry. Mr. Bean The Vicar of Dibley The Mrs. Bradley Mysteries The Thin Blue Line (mostly first series)
And...gosh, why am I not subscribed to this yet?

Waiting for God was a fun little sitcom on PBS. I'd recommend that.
Also, Young Ones if that's on there.
And of course....

Aside from the classics already mentioned i'd recommend Rab C Nesbitt. Though you might need the subtitles to understand the Scottish accent.

I've never seen one before. No one has, but I'm guessing it's a "White Hole."
