I'd kinda prefer they just be able to work their own existing promotions and hopefully get AEW's support in promoting them, but obviously whatever decision makes that wrestler happy is the best.

I would way rather watch the promotions I'm currently watching that watch AEW raid those promotions like the shitty company that sucks.

AEW doesn't have to "Raid" anything, Yuka was working her Japan promotions fine before the pandemic, the same would proably be said for most of these girls, but they need to wait for the Pandemic Travel Restrictions to stop. I could see Maki Itoh making a full commitment more than any of them because AEW seems like her dream job.

There's that angle to it, but one thing I've hoped for with their alliances/working relationships is to feature their own talent in other promotions. Kenny and Riho did a DDT show, and he was very much going to feud with their top stars before the pandemic (Nyla also tagged with VENY at a Marvelous show while with AEW), but I dunno, it would be cool to see AEW send one of their women to TJPW for a tour etc.

Send over a young, eager talent with a "vetern" so that they can pick up a ton of experience. Because let's be honest, the US scene isn't exactly a hot bed of knowledge right now.

I definitely think the pre-pandemic plan was to have talent exchanges between AEW and their Japanese partners. Kris Statlander stands out to me as I think could've done really well for herself in Japan.
Once injuries and travel restrictions are in the rearview mirror, I'd love to see Anna Jay do an excursion in Japan, too.

They should be signed but lol at the shot at the "other companies". Brian should probably learn about stones and glass houses before trying to criticize other companies and their handling of the women. Especially since every other company in America sans ROH books and features their women way better than AEW does still.

Especially since every other company in America sans ROH books and features their women way better than AEW does still. Well for one, I think he was mainly talking about their in-ring performances. And he's right. We rarely see that caliber of wrestling in WWE or Impact. Both of those companies may have high quality matches every now and then at a big show but AEW has been providing higher quality matches every week so far this year. I also think the gap in terms of booking has closed recently. Yes, women in WWE may get more matches per show (which isn't always the case - SmackDown this week had just one and it was a three minute Tamina squash match). But to me, more matches doesn't always equal better booking. Their tag division is a mess, Asuka has been one of the worst booked champions in recent years, and Sasha has largely been stuck in a three month Carmella feud since she beat Bayley. AEW has its faults but I would not describe them as being significantly behind any other American company.

He said those girls put matches better than other companies, that never meant the other companies are bad.But the Joshis are f***ing amazing. Also AEW is included in that other since currently they are not signed to AEW

Very little screen time on Dynamite. Very little character development. Very few storylines, especially those with the champion. They have had some good matches here and there, especially recently but they have a long way to go before they get near featuring the women as prominently and churning out as many high quality matches as NXT, Smackdown and Raw.

How were the Bleacher Report matches tonight? Had trouble finding and getting the link to work but may check them out on YouTube tomorrow.

How were the Bleacher Report matches tonight? Had trouble finding and getting the link to work but may check them out on YouTube tomorrow. Pretty fantastic. The six-woman was a very good "showcase everyone" match, Ryo/Yuka got amazing down the stretch, and Riho/Rosa was just plain good. It's as good an hour of wrestling as you'll find this week, in all likelihood.

How were the Bleacher Report matches tonight? Had trouble finding and getting the link to work but may check them out on YouTube tomorrow. They were all great. I see why Riho/Rosa was also not put on Dynamite even though it coulda been, they're saving a lot of what they can do for a rematch down the line I can feel it, but they had a really good match regardless, this was a basis for revisiting down the road The Six Woman was great all around, all six are amazing and AEW probably has them all on the "I can't wait until pandemic travel is better" list Ryo/Yuka stole the night for me overall, both are just really, really good at what they do.

Per Tony Khan he and AEW were "Promised several times" that AEW's show would have no problems with international fans viewing the show. Bleacher Report then failed to deliver the show to international fans, so the Special Show also got put up in full on Youtube if you were having trouble viewing it
Bleacher Report has been around almost 15 years, so for them to do this is a real shit move. Some people in the comments think Tony is passing the buck but I highly doubt he would jeopardize any relationships by not telling the truth about what happened.
Bottom line is if it's promised multiple times then Bleacher Report needs to get their shit together not just in AEW's case but other cases where this could happen.

Like I said, WWE and Impact do give their women more screen time. I just don't equate that necessarily with "better" per se. In terms of in-ring, I give the edge to AEW this year with the likes of Deeb/Riho, Britt/Nyla, Rosa/Leyla, and Rosa/Britt. NXT can put on some fun matches for sure so I'd say they are pretty close. But lately, RAW has been filled with bad Charlotte matches that Asuka can't save. If there is a 2nd match, it's usually a short one involving Manda/Dana that isn't good. Sasha is the best worker on SmackDown and hasn't had a match on the main show this year that didn't involve a man in the match. The endless Riott Squad matches haven't done anything for me. I'd say Bianca/Bayley was the last really good match and they've been rarer these days. And for the most part, I haven't been a fan of the storylines either. Now I'd love AEW to develop more of these. I liked what we had with Britt and Thunder Rosa. A tournament doesn't need a storyline per se and it's very much a solid sports centric presentation but I'd love to see more development after it's over. But I'd still take just good wrestling over the Alexa stuff and the Charlotte/Lacey angle. I know it's largely to each their own but I think WWE's booking and match quality with the women on the main roster at least has largely fallen off post Bayley/Sasha (which was absolutely great). NXT has been an exception although I do think Io has lost a bit of her direction.

I can't really see it as passing the buck when, like...Bleacher Report is tangibly the party that didn't live up to their end of the bargain here. AEW showed that they had other means to distribute the show internationally immediately.
Most everything about how this special was set up suggests that the goal was to get more people to engage with Bleacher Report. Bleacher Report fumbled it, so Khan and AEW are pretty free to act in the interest of making their own customers happy and retaining some fan goodwill.

NXT I can give you, but acting like the Women's Matches on RAW and Smackdown are consistently quality or are consistently booked well is really stretching it to justify AEW having "A long way to go". There's a lot wrong with RAW and Smackdown's women's divisions right now and people have been very vocal about it. AEW has room to improve the women's division but this Tournament has been a great step in the direction of quality and honestly giving the division a bit of a soft reset, and this week on Dynamite we have a huge Women's Tournament Final to set up a shot for Shida at Revolution, and two women in the main event in Red Velvet and Jade Cargill, and say what you want, Jade Cargill is being looked at to carry the half of her team, because Shaq certainly ain't gonna be the workhorse there. I just wish we'd look at what's going right rather than trying to compare or say they should do this and do that. Considering what early pandemic looked like I'm glad this division didn't outright f***ing fold and is now starting to thrive again. And I only hope for the best as it continues to push forward (Even as it continues to get rotten luck like Anna Jay and Brooke Havok getting hurt).

Agreed, those comments are honestly trolls if they think AEW was in any way at fault here Blacher Report can't be doing that if AEW were promised multiple times. If AEW ever does something like this again they could take their business elsewhere within Warner's system or otherwise. Not really wise to f*** up this bad when you had weeks to prepare for it.
