I can't really see it as passing the buck when, like...Bleacher Report is tangibly the party that didn't live up to their end of the bargain here. AEW showed that they had other means to distribute the show internationally immediately. Most everything about how this special was set up suggests that the goal was to get more people to engage with Bleacher Report. Bleacher Report fumbled it, so Khan and AEW are pretty free to act in the interest of making their own customers happy and retaining some fan goodwill. The fact it was up on YouTube pretty quickly showed that when they could have just hoped and waited for Bleacher to be good before doing it and potentially risking the relationship. But like you said, that risk weakens when the main port of call for the show itself doesn’t hold its end despite over a week of build to make sure it would go smoothly. EDIT: To make an easier comparison, Peacock have at least been upfront about potential problems with the WWE Network going up there and they have about a month now to iron those out before it launches with backup plans in case it doesn’t. It’s a bigger service and a bigger transition, sure, but at least the company and the public knows about it.

AEW has some solid talent but they still have been booking the women poorly. Very little screen time on Dynamite. Very little character development. Very few storylines, especially those with the champion. They have had some good matches here and there, especially recently but they have a long way to go before they get near featuring the women as prominently and churning out as many high quality matches as NXT, Smackdown and Raw. NXT I can give you, but acting like the Women's Matches on RAW and Smackdown are consistently quality or are consistently booked well is really stretching it to justify AEW having "A long way to go". There's a lot wrong with RAW and Smackdown's women's divisions right now and people have been very vocal about it. AEW has room to improve the women's division but this Tournament has been a great step in the direction of quality and honestly giving the division a bit of a soft reset, and this week on Dynamite we have a huge Women's Tournament Final to set up a shot for Shida at Revolution, and two women in the main event in Red Velvet and Jade Cargill, and say what you want, Jade Cargill is being looked at to carry the half of her team, because Shaq certainly ain't gonna be the workhorse there. I just wish we'd look at what's going right rather than trying to compare or say they should do this and do that. Considering what early pandemic looked like I'm glad this division didn't outright f***ing fold and is now starting to thrive again. And I only hope for the best as it continues to push forward (Even as it continues to get rotten luck like Anna Jay and Brooke Havok getting hurt). Someone else brought up the comparisons so I was responding to that. And again, a lot of these tournament matches have been internet-only, so yes they have had a couple of good not fantastic Dynamite matches. They still have not been featuring the women as much as they should. Two matches would be a start, as would a main event or at least an opener.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but hasn't Bleacher Report had issues streaming AEW in the past? Like, with PPV pre-shows being really choppy and crashing?
I understand that BR has the wider audience, but at this point, it seems like AEW have more to lose than to gain with this relationship and should consider finding a different outlet.

They should be signed but lol at the shot at the "other companies". Brian should probably learn about stones and glass houses before trying to criticize other companies and their handling of the women. Especially since every other company in America sans ROH books and features their women way better than AEW does still. Meh AEW's booking of women is still pretty suspect ( but so is WWE's), but in terms of match quality AEW has blown WWE out of the water so far this year. AEW has this in terms of high quality matches Tay Conti vs Serena Serena vs Riho Britt vs Thunder Rosa Ryo vs Yuka Emi vs Veny Tay vs Nyla Nyla vs Britt Thunder Rosa vs Riho The six women tag tonight WWE has this in terms of high quality matches The Takeover dusty finals tag match I guess? And maybe the Women's royal rumble match? It's not even close at the moment

After Baker lost Wednesday. I gave the whole thing to Rosa.
I wish things were spread out a little better. If she goes all the way her week looks like this.
Sunday: Riho Monday: Rose Wednesday: Ryo Sunday: Shida
That’s tough week. I’ve kinda lost little interest, Rosa vs. Baker 2, and Rosa/Baker vs. Yuka would be much better matches than anything involving Rose and Ryo.

Thunder Rosa's work ethic is awe-inspiring. Following her Instagram, it feels like she's had nearly 10 matches this month alone. Including her match with Britt Baker, her tournament matches, a match against Dreamgirl Ellie, and a cage match with Sienna as well.
I'm shocked she hasn't fit a MMA fight in there somewhere.

I think Rosa had a bout with COVID, too. It's amazing she's able to do all this without getting winded.

Im hoping for more matches as well As far as the main event, Red Velvet and Jade are always gonna be able to say they were the first girls to main event an AEW Show. Yes it's an Intergender Tag Match, but seriously Jade has had the spotlight this entire time in terms of "This is must see" while Shaq has been used to pull the casuals in. I really hope Jade delivers and Red Velvet stands to gain A LOT from this too (And frankly is an upgrade to Brandi in ring anyway).

And maybe the Women's royal rumble match? It's not even close at the moment At least half of those matches were internet-only. The bar on some of those matches listed is also fairly low (like 2.5- 3 stars range), which many weekly women’s matches rate WWE-wise. But high quality matches on WWE programming during that time: - Dusty finals - Ripley vs. Raquel Street fight - Women’s rumble - Io vs. Mercedes vs. Storm - Sasha vs. Carmella (Rumble) - Bayley vs. Belair - Io vs. Stark - Ember / Shotzi vs. Candace / Indi (2 times) - Candace vs. Shotzi - Raquel/Kai vs. Kacy / Kayden - Charlotte vs. Royce - Kacy and Kayden vs. Storm / Mercedes And then a bunch of solid to good tag matches: - Shayna/Nia vs. Sasha/Belair - Sasha/Bianca vs. Bayley/Carmella - Charlotte/Asuka vs. Lacey/Royce tag - Charlotte/Asuka vs. Nia/Shayna (Raw) And I don’t even watch NXT UK or 205Live and didn’t see the Superstar Spectacle so not sure if they have been churning out any quality women’s matches this year on their internet/Network-only shows.

It's... yeah, no, Raw is easily beneath AEW there. Impact, though, yeah, fair. The knockouts seem to be a big focus for the company during times when the company is experiencing any kind of health. When things go to shit, the division seems to one of the first casualties. Fortunately, now is not one of those times.

I pray that one day I'll have even a third of her diligence and confidence. She's also a Mom to a teenage son. An incredibly impressive person. I am definitely impressed with her work ethic. All of the wrestling she does, while also being a trainer, while also being a promoter, while also being a mom, and all the while, being very active on social media to promote herself. It's stunning. I do hope that she doesn't burn herself out, but right now, she's really getting herself out there. I can definitely see why she didn't go to WWE when she had the opportunity, because while I'm sure the money would be easier, she seems to thrive on having the kind of freedom to be pretty hands-on with how she's used. That just would not be feasible with WWE's structure.

I can get behind this idea, and next year hopefully it will be with the crowd coming back.

It's certainly worth considering, though I imagine it'd be a matter of finding the time. Excalibur is used so much as it is, but, he did also seem to really enjoy himself.

I'm not sure if it makes a ton of sense to shoot content in Japan just for youtube content, but logistically they could have access to the Gatoh Move and some TJPW women and perhaps some male wrestlers from DDT as well as CIMA, Lindemann, T-Hawk. Perhaps there could be content shot in Japan with these crews, but I can't see it being a weekly thing.
