Hell of a night for the women's division on Rampage. They showcased Jade to a ton of new people and the first thing Punk did when he spoke to Chicago was put over Britt Baker So... yeah it was.

This was CM Punk's night... so I really don't see why there is any reason to get snide about the women's division. Everything they put on the show was basically just the chaser to a huge moment. Showcasing Jade was indeed a big thing to do because she is unlike anyone else out there And Punk putting Baker over is a big deal for the girls. Literally the first words out of his mouth in a ring in seven years was putting Britt Baker over. That's very important.

Hell of a night for the women's division on Rampage. :P Honest question, what do you cut from the show to add more stuff for the women's division from that specific episode of rampage? A literal third of the show was dedicated to the return to professional wrestling of the one of biggest stars in the company's history. They booked matches that could be compressed with talent that could compress them.

Love Punk but I hope they start going for the big names for the women's division too. With WWE in the state they are, with Super Becky back and NXT on the virge of the end, does anyone think it's a real possibility that the likes of Io Shirai,Asuka,Mia Yim etc could join them within the next year or so?

Considering how good Io and Asuka are? If they became available no way AEW is gonna pass them up if they don't want to go back to Japan for Joshi stuff. Mia Yim could too yes I think the girls that are most likely to come in soon are Ruby Soho and Mercedes Martinez. The IInspiration have Visa issues or they'd be here already imo

Jade Cargill in a squash match is probably the best use for her at this point.
She's an impressive looking Monster heel who hasn't had THAT much in ring experience
Outside of the match with Shaq & Cody, has she had any matches that went over 5 minutes yet?

And honestly, I thought her being on that Rampage show was almost too much starpower for it. But then they clearly want people to see Jade as a big deal, because she is, so I can get it. Would have had another minute or so onto the Kiera match but then, like, it’s Jade. It wasn’t going to be much different.

I am very harsh on AEW for how they book the women generally but I do not think this is the week for that.
Dynamite had three segments featuring women's division storylines and they are adding women to almost every stable now.
Plus having one women's match each on two shows is vastly increasing the percentage of women's matches on the cards, and the very first episode of Rampage was main evented by women.
They still have a lot to prove and by no means do I think things are fixed, but the improvement just in the structure of the shows for women is obvious.
Plus, this episode was primarily about Punk returning. Nothing was going to overshadow overshadow or get more time.

Asuka interacting with Shida based on their pre-AEW history would be fascinating.

This talk of Asuka just makes me say if she ever comes to AEW then they should bring over VENY and then use their TJPW resources to get KANNA out of retirement to have a very non confusing match

This an aew thread not a joshi one Guys please don't talk about joshi who notoriously don't wrestle for AEW or have contracts with them. They are not in AEW. The things you see and hear are not at all true. "Trust my eyes & ears better than reports from biased fans" said with no bias, of course. Isn't there just a way to get this guy to shut up already? His Joshi Hate was amusing before, but it's pathetic and desperate now.

I do love that Punk specifically mentioned Britt both in his promo and during the post-show press conference. Hopefully, with Punk on-side, the Women's Division might get more consideration moving forward. *crosses fingers* I would love if he had a manager/valet who loves skipping around the ring and had about 10 kids by now, according to rumors.

Tbh I can see Velvet heading back to Elevation after Jamie beats her, AEW needs to give some mic time to Kris to give her momentum(the PPV is in 2 weeks), its going to be tiring if Britt feuds continue to be one sided.
