Shame Leyla will never be allowed to join Team Taz because there is a very strict anti-Jersey sentiment from Taz. He might relent a little on it, since Taz pretty consistently puts over Sonny Kiss. I think most of his Jersey hatred lands on Janela. Hopefully we'll see Maki Itoh bought in with the tournament, she's been pretty open about wanting to compete for AEW and they can have Archer in her corner. I would love to see Dangerous Hair Friends unite.

So Shida mentioned on her YT account that she has been wrestling with an ankle injury for months...

I mean...it’s a 16 match tournament. And depending on how and where some of them are filmed, it might be better for a viewing audience perspective to have some of them online exclusives if they have to film some in Japan.
Also, sort of not understanding the negative connotations of it being on YouTube? Dark does well there and the women’s tag tournament broke some of their records in terms of live views. If you’re telling me there should be more utilization of talent after the tournament, you have my agreement but having matches on an easily accessible platform isn’t inherently a bad thing.

Yeah, hoping that the Youtube segments are the Japan-filmed segments (if that is indeed happening). That would make sense, draw people to see the Youtube matches, and would make the different filming and location feel natural.
As far as negative connotations...I admit to being torn, because if I were told that I could have free good women's wrestling on Youtube (where all of the participants were well paid) by accepting AEW's women's division as it is on TV, I'd take that deal. On the other hand, it always feels like a snub, because otherwise AEW's Youtube content is purely supplementary or stands on its own.
...that said, given this is a tournament that is double the size of the men's championship eliminator tournament, there is no way to get 100% of that on TV in a reasonable amount of time without it being the only thing on the show (which is not happening for like ten reasons). So for me, it's going to be a matter of how well they use it - if there are two matches from the tournament on TV two weeks in a row, that's cool. If the first round has one match on TV and seven on Youtube...well, that's cool on Youtube, but it shows a lack of desire to actually put any more of it on TV.

I can see doing some of the 8-match first round on YouTube. But once you’ve got it down to 8 people remaining, the rest of the matches should all be on Dynamite.

Unless it stretches out for a long period of time, it'd be near impossible to have all the matches on Dynamite and also continue running the other storylines and matches in the promotion, including those involving women not in the tournament. Mix of YT and Dynamite sounds like the way to go in the earlier rounds. Semis and finals should all be on Dynamite though.

Yeah. I do think this will have 8 japan talents and 8 american talents. With the Japan matches being taped over seas. I see Riho getting into the final seeing how she's the only one being spoken about moving to america.

Makes sense to have some of these be on Youtube honestly, it's a 16 person bracket, even WWE had some of the Dusty Classic tag matches on 205 Live to help move things along quicker for round one.

The funny thing is if they actually do a remote bracket with TJPW wrestlers, Shoko Nakajima technically can't compete under her name or usual gear for a while. She lost a match where the stipulation was to change her name for a month, and now she's Shin Ultra Shoko wrestling under a masked superhero/sentai gimmick.

To be fair they can explain that easily on commentary and that gear is badass.

Leva's not that bad of a worker, sheesh, she'd be absolutely fine taking a round one loss to someone. As down as you are on her also, people really love Leva, and she'd be a perfect candidate for a Cinderella run, not saying that'd happen, but again, Leva's super popular, like Billie Kay, people don't particularly care about her workrate.

Initial reports said she was gonna basically room with Shida for the forseeable future by what it sounded like.

Debbie has mentioned that she's been training to come out of retirement: I was wondering if we'd get some surprise veterans for this say like a Victoria, I did NOT expect Debbie Malenko to tease entry... A Malenko vs Deeb match though...
