After reading this thread, I feel like there is an argument for every PPV name being the worst.
Royal Rumble... what is this, West Side Story: The Monarchs version?
Summerslam... no imagination, just the name of the season it takes place in plus the word 'slam'? Surely they could do better.
Survivor Series... Thanksgiving eve tradition and no mention of Turkey in the title? No Turkey Time? Turkey Bowl? Turkeyslam?

TNA had a ton that sounded like porno movies. Even Impact sounds sexual. Bound For Glory Hard Justice Hardcore Justice Destination X Lockdown Taboo Tuesday doesn't exactly sound much better. WCW The Big Bang, granted it never actually happened and was just rumoured but still sounds very lame.

Its “replacement”, Road Wild, wasn’t any better. At least “Hog Wild” fits the idea of a show at a motorcycle gathering. Problem for me is, I hear "hog" I think "pig" Presumably, you'd know the expression "going hog wild", though, so it's not a total non-sequitur.

Fyter Fest. We’re now in year 2 of a pun name that was already played out when it happened the first time.
And throw another one on the pile for Great Balls of Fire. I remember being certain there was no way they were actually going to name a show after a song from the ‘50s.

I actually dig the Fyter Fest name if they had been able to keep it attached to a fighting video game tournament, or even in pandemic times, redesigned the logo to something that evokes that imagery. There was no need to keep the Fyre Festival motif at all, and it's even weirder to think that this was going to be a UK show this year.

Taboo Tuesday, if only because it tells you absolutely NOTHING about what the show is.

Taboo Tuesday, if only because it tells you absolutely NOTHING about what the show is. ...but it tells you EVERYTHING about the day of the week the show is on

Not the name itself, but WM XV had one of the worst subtitles ever, "The Ragin Climax". Even I thought that that was taking the whole sexualized WWF at the time too far. Wrestlemania 22: All Grown Up wasnt much better either, but at least it was more innocent.

Before the Saudi and Australia super-shows, there was a super-show in Canada. It’s name: The Big Event.

I wonder if the motif would have been the same, though, had it gone down in the UK, or if they were using set pieces they had already.

It's not really funny, but I still can't believe WWE straight up named a PPV "Fatal Four Way." It's probably the single most uninspiring name they have ever used, taking a match that's generally seen as an excuse for an indecisive finish (or, worse, pointless filler) and trying to sell a show with it like they have Hell in a Cell and TLC. That was during that great era when they just basically said “f*** it” and named a lot of the shows after the theme matches I mean within a couple years we got Extreme Rules, Elimination Chamber, TLC, Money in the Bank and Hell in a Cell too.

I dont think Great Balls of Fire was that bad, it was more something you would find as an IYH subtitle

I swear that WWE creative makes decisions just to stupify and piss off fans. "I got an idea. Let's call it...Fatal Four Way." "Hmm. That sounds just uninspired enough to work." "The bastards will never see this coming. Let's do it."

I genuinely forgot about the absolute top worst one of all time. WWE Battleground. And I'll probably forget about it in 20 minutes again because it's so generic and boring.

Not a PPV, but Mid Atlantic did a much hyped supercard in 1985 called "Silver Starr '85"

Over The Limit
Fatal 4 Way
Hell in a Cell
Bragging Rights (only cause it came before Survivor Series which was more of a Bragging Rights show to begin with)
Tables, Ladders, Chairs, and Stairs
