I mainly made this thread cuz I posted this Right to Censor publicity still for hilarious reasons elsewhere on the board, And I recognize (from left-to-right), Val Venis, Charles "The Go(o)dfather" Wright, and Clean-Shaved Stevie on the right edge. And while I don't actually know who the woman wearing a cravat in the shape of the pi symbol is, I'm hypnotized by the poor bastard between Charles and Stevie: Who the hell is that? Also is it just a really unflattering camera angle, or is there some fisheye-lens distortion going on -- it looks like a Bigshow-sized head on a 6'5" body So I made this thread to: 1) figure out who that is B) let other people post "who the hell is that?" pictures of their own, I guess probably for similar situations (or else it would be easier to determine)... like, someone's got a radical look change, someone's partially visible in the background of a picture, someone's probably a jobber/local talent III) or I guess if none of the above apply, we could just use this space to post REALLY unflattering 'look' changes, especially if they didn't last very long and/or required a lot of permanent work (poor Snitsky and his tooth-yellowing dental procedure). four) attempt to make that picture of that guy a 'thing'or, OPTION 5: wherein we talk about the life and times of one Bull "His Momma Named Him Barry" Buchanan

I think Bull was a Jim Ross favorite based on his look because he "absolutely sucked" to paraphrase Rock. He never, ever connected with fans despite WWF keeping him on roster for like 5 years giving gimmick after gimmick that never worked. He should have been future endeavored after the Truth Commission.
He was a member of the Truth Commission from summer 1997 to early 1998 when there was a split with Jackyl. He and his partner split off to make their own team that was pretty much a team of big guy jobbers and I think they lasted a few months into early 1998. They did make the Wrestlemania battle royal. I guess he was taken off TV for a little while as the next time I remember him being in WWF was a tag team with Big Bossman which probably killed Bossman's fame then. Bossman was pretty hot with his hardcore run and the evil character he became with the Al Snow and Big Show but Bull just sucked so bad it probably rubbed off on Bossman. Again, I think he was a JR favorite as JR would always try to put him over but it seems like all he could really say was "his momma named him Barry but his friends call him Bull" every match.
He did the RTC gimmick which, as seen by the picture, was pretty much a group of people who were lacking direction in WWF at the time. Probably his most famous role which wasn't famous at all because...it was Bull...was with John Cena in his early heel days. It's really a testament to John's talent that he was able to get past the Bull "stink" as in the Homer Simpson quote "stink of failure still not off me" and become not only popular with the fans but as popular and famous as he did become.
Sorry but Bull had no business in a major wrestling promotion. He was just awful in the ring, much like a Bryan Clarke or Brian Adams and yet he didn't even have a cool look like either man. He was much like an Albert, Mabel, Fatu (pre Rikishi), Crush that just never connected with fans yet must have been a good company guy because WWF kept him on roster for so long.

Thank goodness John got rid of that terrible fuzzy bucket hat. I kind of want Cena and Taz to argue about sports for ten minutes using exaggerated accents.

Well, I liked that corner springboard clothesline move he did.

Bull Buchanan once won a match by leaping onto the top rope and doing a flip over axe kick to Bradshaw. I can't find it online but at the time I thought it was the most awesome thing ever. They booked his "quiet rise" so effectively post-Bossman that even KOTR fan me didn't spot it was solely to put over Crash Holly in the Quarters and was actually surprised live.
I mean, he wasn't the best wrestler in the world, but I do at least have some fond memories of Bull (that axe kick, his goofy 2nd henchman thing for Shane bit, the RTC) which is far more than the 0 memories I have of some similar alumni. Ryan Braddock and Bam Neely for example.
