Does anyone else think that there are just too many title matches on Dynamite?
I get why the TNT championship would be defended so much on TNT, but every single week? Even with Cody's open challenge storyline this is burning me out on both Cody and the belt.
Page&Omega seem to have defended the tag titles against every team in AEW bar FTR at this stage.
The world title is defended a lot less but there's still been like 3 televised defences in the last month or so.
It seems just too easy to get a title shot in AEW. The titles lose prestige if everyone is getting a shot at them. I think having title matches on tv is great but is it's every week/every other week, how does this make title matches, and receiving a title shot, a big deal?

I think having title matches on tv is great but is it's every week/every other week, how does this make title matches, and receiving a title shot, a big deal? They don't do monthly PPVs and they need to keep ratings up, and some defenses are happening on those two night PPV style events. Also, I don't think they're being defended as much as you think. TNT Title has been on a bit, but there have been a few weeks break here or there. Cagematch.net says it's been defended 9 times since its introduction in May, so it's definitely the most frequently defended belt. Tag titles have been defended 6 times since May. Your point about the tag titles is fair, but I think there's nothing to stop teams from coming back around to get title shots. Also remember there are new teams like Starks/Cage that might end up winning 'em. On the world title front, Jon Moxley beat Brodie in May. Then, there have been two title defenses in July, one against Cage at Fight for the Fallen and the one against Darby. I'm not trying to be annoying, but I think when there are so few PPVs that they need to have title matches on and off to make people care to watch. Tag wrestling is one of their best attributes right now so I can't hate on them for leaning into it. They seem to be doing a decent job with the world title, too.

I've no problem with titles even being defended once or so a month, and I take the point about AEW having far fewer PPVS, but it feels like every one on the roster has had a title shot at this stage. Title matches outside of PPVs to me don't feel like a big deal anymore.

As long as everything keeps booked making sense and there's good variety of challengers, I think it's cool.

It just challenges 'em to think of more fresh match ups in future when they don't have too many dream world title programs left to deliver. I'm just happy that particular matches happen as soon as possible as there's too many great matches missed 'cause of injuries and such.

TNT title being regularly defended doesn't bother me; it's a TV title, it allows them to bring in outside talent, and the fact its defended more often and against a wider variety of different level opponents establishes it as the second tier title (which is a good thing!). I do think that once Cody drops it, it might be good to get it on a more regular schedule like defenses once every two weeks instead of as frequently as Cody's done it, but that's also the storyline Cody's doing.
World title only feels like it's been defended a lot lately thanks to the Cage and Darby matches happening close together, I think, but part of that is likely to make up for the time Moxley had to miss. I'm fine with that belt having something like the IWGP title's defense schedule, something like 8-10 a year, but I get why they might do more.
There might be more of an argument for the tag titles being defended a little too frequently, though; I don't have the best answer on that, but it's at least worthy of conversation whether it's overdone or not.
Granted, at the end of the day I think a lot of decisions like that also stem from being up against NXT, something they might not have planned on being at first. Take away the direct competition, and they likely feel more comfortable spacing stuff out.

You might be too used to Brock Lesnar defending his title once in a blue moon over the span of a year.

seems like the dynamite title shots are for the non #1 contenders that are still in the top five while the #1 contender is saved for the PPV "and the big PPV share of the purse" (/kayfabe). meanwhile the champs get to be shown on tv regularly in something other than a general squash. but until they pull an actual title change off on dynamite it won;t really surprise anyone when the champs retain again at this point.

I mean that’s happened twice now. Nyla beat Riho and Hangman and Kenny beat SCU. Hasn’t happened recently but it has happened.

The tag division is arguably AEW's strongest asset, and affirming that Omega and Hangman are the top of the food chain while having contenders breathe down their neck has been a big part of that.

AEW has a LOT of talent... I mean, not WWE levels, obviously, but a lot. A match is going to get more talent time on air than segments
