Penny and Howard in Big Bang Theory - waitress to pharmaceutical sales rep, and university engineer to astronaut (and back again). Howard didn’t stop being an engineer. NASA sent him up to install and work on something he designed for the ISS. He was meant to go back up and make repairs but never did.

Rachel and Chandler in Friends Peter has had a few different jobs in Family Guy hasn't he? he started at the Toy Factory.... he was fired and then started working at a ren fair... then they lampshaded he'd have his job at the Toy Factory back the next day... then eventually the Toy Factor was closed and he got a job at a brewery... I think he was a fisherman some time in there too... not sure if they ever explained that. I want to say he became a fisherman after he did something dumb at the brewery. He had that job for a little while before going back Can add Cleveland to the list as well. Went from a Deli Worker/Owner in Family Guy to Cable installer in his own show. He also did telemarketing too

Then he got a job at the Pawtucket Brewery which he's had since. Cleveland was a Deli Owner on Family Guy. Cable television employee on the Cleveland Brown Show. Then when he came back to Family Guy, he joined the US Post Office.

Was just thinking about Perfect Strangers, and how the first couple of seasons had them working in an antiques store, but the later seasons they were working for the Newspaper. Any other examples of sitcom characters having multiple jobs throughout the course of a series (and I mean for more than 1 episode)? They both got promoted to editorial executive positions in the last season as well.

That 70s Show must hold the record for this. Almost every main character changed jobs (often multiple times) throughout the run of the show. Red: auto-parts factory worker, manager at Price-Mart, owner of a muffler shop. Kitty: went back and forth between nursing and being a housewife. Eric: Price-Mart stock boy, dog food factory worker, waiter at a hotel/restaurant, teacher in Africa. Hyde: Foto Hut employee, chef at a hotel/restaurant, record store employee/owner. Kelso: underwear model, police officer, bouncer at the Playboy Club. Jackie: Cheese salesperson, assistant at a TV station. Fez: DMV worker, shampoo boy at a salon. I think Donna is the only character who just had one job, as a radio DJ. Did Donna never work at her dad’s store?

Mrs. Garrett was a maid, who changed shows to be a housemother, who then became a dietician, who then ran a gourmet food business, who finally f***ed off to become a retired housewife.

Roseanne changed jobs every season or so. Factory worker, waitress, nail salon receptionist, restaurant worker. Meanwhile Dan spent most of his time as a contractor with a side trip to business owner/motorcycle mechanic.

Benson went from being a butler to running for governor.
Laverne & Shirley... started working in a brewery in Milwaukee, joined the Army Reserves for one season, then moved to California and started working in a department store.
Cheers! Norm was an accountant who became a interior decorator, then found a dream job working as a taster in a brewery.

Laverne and Shirley: upon their move to California, went from Shotz Brewery to a department store. When Shirley was gone, Laverne worked at an aerospace factory.
Lenny and Squiggy went from Shotz to becoming wannabe talent agents.
Frankie Heck went from working at the car dealership to being a dental assistant.

There was an episode in Season 1 where all the teens go to work with a parent for career day and Donna is with her dad at Bargain Bob's but she never actually worked there.

f***ing deadbeat Owning your own business and then managing to live rent free isn't called being a deadbeat, it's called being brilliant.
