I saw an albino polar bear once. I know you are trying to be funny, but that would be a really big problem for a polar bear actually. They are not white; they are black. They only appear white because their hairs function not unlike fiberoptic cables, channeling light through reflection down to their skin (the fur appears white because of the light that leaks out, from what I understand). Their skin, being black, absorbs the light and it heats them fairly efficiently. If they were albino, it would not and they would probably freeze under environments that many polar bears could easily withstand. |
