I felt really bad for him. First night on a new job and that happens. That massive pyro he got also didn't do his inevitable botch any favours!

Have MJF rip into him on Dynamite next week to deflect from his own shortcomings. Have a nice little banger of a match.

I'm glad he's able to laugh about it. Makes it easier for me to laugh about it, too.

![](https://media3.giphy.com/media/YqQAUhP8PSmHMTpYe8/giphy.gif) This just made Sydal more memorable. ![:D](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/grin.png) I bet he is gonna get even cooler showing in Dynamite 'cause of this - one of the very first legendary botches in AEW history.

Sounds like Sydal's gonna have more AEW appearances, I'm all for that, he's a good worker still, that was just unfortunate with all the sweat that was probably on the ropes

Dude has been one of my favorites for a long time, and that was a supremely inauspicious debut.
Long term I don't think it matters but he can't unring that bell.
Also it's being kind of glossed over in the hilarity, but dude is doing the ROH pure tournament, and being a damn fine wrestler at a time when they could use star power he has a reasonable chance.
This mean he's actually signed with AEW, or they're talent sharing, or both?

Currently a free agent, like Cardona, it might be a multiple-show deal until they figure out if they wanna use him long term or not. Sydal has proclaimed he's a free agent recently

Man, that wasn't even like 1/4 close to have worked.

I don't think it was his fault, I'm glad he's not hurt, and that he's seeing the funny side of it. That all said, bloody hellfire, that was funny. That brings back memories of Ultimo Dragon's famous WrestleMania entrance, slipping on the stage in perfect timing to the Godzilla screech in his intro music, and then losing his footing trying to pose on the turnbuckle. My dad when he watched that with me at the time:"Is he drunk?"

Man, that wasn't even like 1/4 close to have worked. I think he realized it was going wrong in the middle of doing it and bailed out. If he'd gotten further along with the move it would've likely ended up much worse.

If he'd gotten further along with the move it would've likely ended up much worse. Yeah, I think the reason he hit the rope at all was because he tried to grab it to try and right himself and realized it wasn't going to happen and went into flat back bump mode... he seemed like he realized he slipped and aborted like immediately.

Yeah, like I said, glad he’s got a good head about it. Would have been easy to lash out at people. Sydal has a high opinion of himself so the fact he can laugh about it and show humility is good
