Vince will be sure to regret this move once tax season rolls around.

Now, now, let's not root for anyone to get fired. Even Humberto.

Man, the thunderdome was a good investment wasn't it. Spending a shitload money to fulfill Kevin Dunn production fetish surely wasn't going to bite them in the ass.

From WrestleZone:
"According to a source speaking with WrestleZone, multiple live event staff members, including technical crew and show producers, have been released by WWE today after being furloughed earlier this year.
It was noted that there was hope the event staff could stay on with the company in some way, but now there’s internal concern that a lot more ‘public releases’ could still be coming. WWE’s last live event before the pandemic was on March 7 in Allentown, Pennsylvania ahead of the Elimination Chamber pay-per-view.
Some of the people released today were notified via email that they weren’t being brought back but the total number of employees released today is unknown. According to a report by PWInsider.com it’s believed that “over 60 staffers” were let go on Thursday as part of the WWE cuts. Most of the people let go this week were already furloughed in April or had been working in departments that are inactive due to COVID-19.
Earlier this week, a number of notable names were cut from their positions including Gerald Brisco (talent scout), Mike Rotunda and Sarah Stock (producer) and staff writer Anthony Benigno. Despite the cuts being made it’s not believed that WWE will be letting any wrestlers go at this time."

WWE will inevitably have to return to doing live events eventually. That's just a fact. It might not be soon, but hey imagine taking those record revenues and saying "It's okay, we've got your backs" in some way. Sometimes, people talk up stories of Vince doing something nice. Giving someone who needs it a job, helping out someone who isn't really bringing much value but who could use the leg up. Sixty people, through no fault other than working in a position the company presently doesn't need because of a global crisis but will need again in the future, didn't get that 'benevolence'. A company that could easily afford to keep these people on standby without any threat at all to its bottom line couldn't keep on sixty people. Nah, that's gross and f***ed up.

Releasing that many staff in live events seems unnecessary. When they do go back to them they'll have to rebuild the whole division. It'll be a mess for ages.

Not releasing live staff is stupid. You can’t be paying people to do NOTHING for long. It sucks but it’s business.
