I'd agree with previous posts here regarding Arkham Knight and MGSV although I can at least say with them that I still liked portions of the gameplay a lot so I don't consider them that bad.
I don't often get games until a while after they come out, so usually I'm pretty good with picking ones I like, but there's one game I failed to do with this year, that being Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot, and shockingly, I hated it. I'm a huge Dragon Ball fan and was looking forward to see how it worked, and woof, I thought in the early announcement that DBZ wouldn't be suited to that type of game, but it looked cool enough in the pre-release hype that I got swooped into it at the last second. And when I played it, it only took a week for me to give up because it was exactly as I initially pictured, in addition to having a ton of glitches and lacking much replayability features from what I'd been told. It got so bad that I actively had to dig out my PS2 to play Budokai Tenkaichi 3 to wash the stink of how bad it was.

Streets of Rage 4 - Don't get me wrong the game is still good. But as a chance to really embrace the game series there are some things it really missed the boat with. My top three disappointments would be:
1. The music: Strrets of Rage is defined by the music and the option to use the classic music was a great idea, but it was done so badly as if it was an after thought. Why does level 2 start with boss music, why does the level 1 boss have the final boss music from SOR2?? It's really not great.
2. Bosses: I found the bosses to be lacklustre. Did we really need the diva bosses three times? Why is the female cop boss and police chief boss used twice? Most importantly why are the bosses just really dull creatively.
3. You can't use Roo.

For me it was Kingdom Hearts III. It wasn't a bad experience, but it lacked the same magic as the originals.

The combo system and invincibility frames with most of the enemies are annoying too, and not all characters being able to run or roll to avoid those cheap diagonal attacks from the biker women and some bosses.
