most of my life the Bucks were average at best... never thought I'd see this day.... so happy for the team, fans I thought they might win the East in 01. That's the only time between when I started watching and 2 years ago when I thought Milwaukee would or could win the East.

Giannis had THE block in game 4, THE alley oop in game 5, and then wrapped it all up by dropping 50 to win a ring. What a goddamn MONSTER.

I think the thing that makes Giannis so easy to root for, outside of being an amazing player and by all accounts a great guy, is that the modern NBA is defined by taking the easy way. KG formed a super team, LeBron formed 2 super team, KD joined a super team and formed another, Harden joined a super team. But Giannis not only stayed with a team that didn't surround him with star names, his entire postseason has been defined by needing every little bit of what he has to get by. From averaging 35/14 in the last 3 games against Brooklyn to coming back from that gruesome injury to having 11 blocks in the Finals, to hitting 90% pf his FTs, to just hustling his ass off on every play. He completely emptied the tank instead of doing what KD did, when his offense on OKC was difficult while the next season on GS, he was rarely double-teamed and everything was easier. Two very different roads, one being much more admirable.

Giannis rules. So cool to see a guy win without having like 3 other top players with him.

Bucks winning is worth it just to see the "Congrats Suns" video that will surely be coming from UrinatingTree.

Giannis put on a performance for the ages and basically has booked his name in the convo of top 10 PF of all time and can only increase his ranking from here
2x MVP, DPOY and a 50 point game in a close out to win the chip. Put the team on his back and they delivered
CP3 legacy takes another hit. He's blown another serious where his team had a lead and he had a good game but it's time to start calling it like it is where he has had chances to win a ring and didn't measure up

So happy for Giannis. I remember the documentary they did for NBA TV for him where they talked about how hard it was to get his family to the US. But they also talked about how Giannis developing has helped the city of Milwaukee grow as well economically. Still hard to believe that the skinny kid who was considered a reach and project PG from a bad Greek team developed into one of thr best players in the game.
Now here's the question, between his knee injury and how inconsistent the Bucks looked going into the finals where does this performance rank in all time performances?

Now here's the question, between his knee injury and how inconsistent the Bucks looked going into the finals where does this performance rank in all time performances? His Finals performance is going to be up there in recent memory Just even in this close out game it's insane. He scored his teams 33 of the 50 points in the 2nd half. CP3 said that smart ass comment last game about trying to foul him because everyone knows he is going to miss FT's including Giannis himself. He went 17/19 from the FT line He averaged 35 PPG, 13 Rebs, 5 Ast, 1 Blk, and 2 Stls a game while shooting 62% from the field. That's more impressive than the LeBron James triple double performance when he got swept by Warriors but probably falls just short of the performance LeBron had when he won the ring in Cleveland I think this puts him somewhere wherever you rank Hakeem performance in the Finals when he averaged 33 PPG, 12 Rebs and 6 Ast against Shaq and the Magic

The past ~25 years, I'd say 97 Jordan, 95 Olajuwon, 06 Wade, 00 Shaq, 16 LeBron, and maaaaaybe 2019 Kawhi are on the same level as what Giannis did. The order is anyone's guess. It's all really, really top tier basketball. Still very rare air. Maybe had the worst team of any of them, aside from Wade.

I do think Bucks were a better team than Phoenix if Giannis was healthy and people was selling them short because of how dominant the Suns were If the Suns would have gotten ATL, they would have beaten the Hawks. But no one could stop Giannis on that team I'd also keep Kawhi on there, his overall NBA playoff performance ranks up there cause he was money every single series

I always thought it was going to be a close series. I think if Game 5 breaks different, it goes 7 and comes down to the wire. Suns just didn't play well in crunch time and Giannis made plays. What's funny is the Suns suffered from the same thing the Bucks did for years. When Giannis would play his best, Middleton and Bled would be invisible. When he's be bottled up, they'd play well enough to win. In Game 4 and Game 5, Booker was unstoppable and CP3 was playing like trash. Then CP3 picks his play up last night and Book can't hit his shots. Giannis needed to ascend to a different level to overcome Jrue throwing up bricks and he did. I think Kawhi deserves it as well.

Phoenix ran into a bad matchup for a Superstar they could not contain one bit I expect them to run it back and make a few tweaks here and there. The core should remain the same but they need a sixth man and a backup Center. Cam Johnson wasn't fed like he should been as well. I thought he was a fit but a reach when Suns picked him but he stepped up his play and he could be that dynamic sixth man they need Suns should be happy tho. Their fortunes turned around very quickly and went from a nobody until the bubble of last year and made the Finals this year. Now, you have to get some things right and James Jones is a good GM so he will figure it out Pacific is going to be an animal next year. Warriors, Clippers, Lakers, and Suns all contending for spots (sorry Kings)

The Suns were a good team, but beat the Lakers without AD, Nuggets without Murray, and Clippers without Kawhi. I mean, you beat whichever team you are facing, but they could have easily been a 1st round exit team with normal health.
Doesn't take away from the Bucks win though. Suns were healthy and couldn't beat a better team.
