Anyone here experienced in VR gaming? I’ve been itching to give it a try.
For reference I have a PS4 so PSVR is an option.
PC wise I have a 980ti/i7 6700k powered rig.
I’ve been thinking about diving in with the new Oculus Quest 2. It seems like the only real downside is the Facebook integration.
PSVR is an attractive option too but the hardware is almost 4 years old at this point and rarely seems to be available at a discount.
Valve Index is likely right out price wise. I’d be up for splurging but i don’t think I can pass the wife test.
Maybe a used version of an older headset?
Any tips or suggestions?
Must-try games?

I’ve got a PSVR, and it’s fine. I don’t play it nearly enough, but the games I do have are pretty solid, and I feel they can do more with it than they have. It’s actually probably better than fine, I really like it when I decide to go actually play it. The setup in my room is pretty cramped, so playing is a bit cumbersome.
They put RE7 on the thing and it looks really good, but it’s only half-way because you still have to use the controller instead of the PS Move sticks, then you aim with your face. Still pretty intense though.
Skyrim VR is excellent. Probably my favorite on the system. It’s so cool to be able to handle the weapons I’ve been using on every platform ever for the past X years in “my” hands.
I had amazingly high hopes for No Mans Sky VR, but it doesn’t translate well from a base Model PS4 to to the VR. I’ve read it upscales a bit if you have a PS4Pro. But on a base graphics are so jagged and blur out way too soon causing headaches, and I don’t even get VR sick too easily.
The Inpatient is scary as hell. Legit goosebumps and chills navigating through that one.
I got mine on a pretty big discount from a guy on the OfferUp App. If you want to go that route.

Thought I'd bump this, rather than set up a new thread.
Me and about 10 friends have all picked up Oculus Quest 2, anyone here have it? Currently hanging out with them in Altspace and playing Beat Saber to the point a couple of us have slightly sore arms lol I'm surprised how intuitive it is, when I've tried stuff like this before, looking down I'd almost get vertigo from having no feet but it feels really natural, even for someone who needs glasses.

I’m leaning towards picking one up for Christmas since a PS5 is impossible. That or a TV upgrade in anticipation of a PS5 sometime next year. The TV in my bedroom that I mainly game on at night is an old 32 in 720p TV. As a glasses wearer I’m glad to hear it works well.

Most expensive game I've seen is £30 so that was a shock too lol The first time, it can take a while to find the sweet spot, but after a couple of goes, it's super clear.
