Not going to happen but, I would love for Tanahashi and Henare to win it.
I was really hoping to see KENTA and Jay White as a tag team. Makes for a more interesting team than Fale and Owens, at least.

Jeff Cobb appears to be the current favourite for Okhan's partner. Shame Rampage Brown got signed to NXT, I like him and it'd have neat to see that tagteam make an appearance in Japan.

Read the latest Ibushi interview, it’s something. Dude has always been an enigma and I love him for his DDT stuff but man, he just makes me want him to lose the title shot he shouldn’t have so bad lol.
I think this year they’ll try and make the tag match a bigger thing tho, like a possible semi main for a night. Obviously jr belt or Okada match could take it’s place.

In regards to Ibushi losing. Sorry if I was a bit vague. I like Ibushi and honestly think NJPW should have made him champ before he signed. It's just in his current "arc" or "storyline" or however you want to phrase it, I don't really see his direction. He lost his shot at the title and gets one anyway, and his path to becoming champion now is basically a redux of what Naito did last year but with less build. I feel like he should have something a bit different. (in terms of the interview I just thought he came off a bit of jerk (purely kayfabe), but he basically says he has been ducking Shingo for a decade which is a great setup for a future match btw lol)

Instead of Korakuen, New Year's Dash will be held at The JCB Hall on the 6th

That venue holds more than Korakuen, but less than last year’s NYD show at Ota City Gym, for whatever that means. Maybe OCG was already booked that day, or they went big for Liger’s send off last year.

Meltzer did tease a big women's wrestling announcement this weekend, and Stardom has a pretty big show this afternoon in Sendai so I think given what he would consider big and the timing it might be an announcement at the show about a non-dark Stardom match on the show. It could easily be about Stardom announcing a bigger venue/guests (Kairi) for their 10th anniversary or completely non-related but exhibition stuff at WK wouldn't be surprising, if they have worked out the filming problems.

It ended up being Stardom hosting their tenth anniversary show at Budokan.

Not a fan of the execution here. Not sure why Ibushi is getting a title shot on 1/4 (I know why in kayfabe but it's so lazy), the match was fine but unspectacular and the finish wasn't dastardly enough to sell how heartbreaking and wronged Ibushi was. Made him look like a chump for falling for what should have been expected. At least have EVIL tease he'd screw White over before going for Ibushi instead so White coming out to help him later makes sense.
I get going for more revenue but muddying the stories for the sake of the two-night gimmick is what I was worried about if they kept going with it.

Tony Khan has announced that Jon Moxley will not be wrestling at Wrestle Kingdom. OOF Wonder if it was Mox or TK decision. Considering he would had to Quarantine and all that if he went it would been a process but NJPW going have to strip him of the U.S. title again

The danger of putting the title on a Gaijin who isn't full time with your company tho obviously NJPW had big plans for him considering his first year in, he got into the G1 over someone like Minoru Suzuki

And the optics of a wrestling company that has positioned themselves as the responsible U.S. promotion sending a guy halfway around the world and back for a one off. Quarantining both ways they'd also be limiting themselves to filmed content or just no appearances from their current champ and biggest draw for a month.
