Yes, my parents are Baby Boomers and generally caring and compassionate people who have been really understanding and helpful with my struggles. I have a great relationship with them. Even then, they had blind spots since things for them were so much easier in the 70's and 80's compared to now.
"OK Boomer" is a reaction to think pieces and published whining about "Millennials are killing (insert industry here)!" and 50 and 60-something keyboard warriors on social media who use "bootstraps" way too often. It exists because a lot of us went to our elders for advice and it was useless and mean-spirited.
And Gen Alpha (or whatever comes after) will probably feel the same way about us millennials. Intergenerational angst is a cycle.

I read a “I’m getting so old” post by a 26 year old, laughed until I cried, then started crying in earnest. Getting older sucks in general, but try being a middle aged guy with a neuromuscular disorder. It doesn’t improve aging by any means, I have to tell you. Not many guys in their 40’s start picking out possible canes that they might want (I’m totally getting at least one with a war hammer head, and yes, I will give it a suitable Dwarven name).

Generally I would say after 25 is when you to start to really realize certain shit you liked or could do starts to not be as easy a task Before 25, I could drink all night and bounce up early in the morning like it didn't happen Since then, give me a few hours. I tried drinking this past New Years how I used to drink in my 20's.
It did not go well. Acid reflux from Hell itself.
I also had a diagnosed sluggish thyroid in my mid 20's, but I think it's something I've had for awhile but never got diagnosed due to not having a physical in ages. I also started getting gray hairs at 22 or 23, but that's hereditary. My uncle and grandpa on my mom's side of the family were the same way. On the bright side, at least I don't have to worry about male pattern baldness.

I have never been a person whose been someone who harps on about how old he is or feeling old. Like, I put some of my tiredness and aches to the stress I’ve put myself through emotionally but that’s a discussion for another days
When I was with some friends playing Yu-Gi-Oh and one of them said “I’m so glad I discovered Gangster’s Paradise through the Sonic the Hedgehog trailer”, though? I pretty much had what was described as a mental health breakdown.

I turned 30 this year which means I'm old to hang with the youngsters, but to young to respected.

I was tempted to quote and say “Ok Boomer” to so many posts here today.
But I feel like that joke would piss you Boomers off. =P Besides I’m 29+1(...+1) now and an 18 year old “friend” called me Boomer already. Weird since I feel like I was young not too long ago. =P

From my own not as lengthy as you experience, if it hurts right away, you’re doing it right. If you’re fine after it, get ready to not get out of bed again haha.

I turned 38 earlier this month (and not one of you wished me a Happy Birthday!)
In my early 20s, my 40s seemed so far, but once I'm near to it, it doesn't feel old, like there is a possibility I haven't lived half of my life yet (who know what tomorrow brings etc.)
I haven't become cynical quite the same way a lot of my old classmates have, I'm assuming since the start of time people think the generation who comes after them are the worst ever, while I don't believe in the OK boomer thing, there needs be more understanding between generations
I always think of one of my favourite songs "I Don't Wanna Grow Up" by Tom Waits, that's me in a lot of ways, not that I don't want responsibility or anything but just keep a bit of youth in your heart no matter how old you are

There’s tons of older songs that I discovered growing up when they began to be played in commercials or trailers.

Or people from older generations are more disconnected to how life is now for the younger generations compared to when they were young adults, and their experience is much less meaningful than it used to be. Besides if baby boomers weren't f***ing condescending shitbags to millennials and Gen Z and aren't on average a lot more dismissive about mental health compared to now, "OK boomer" would've never happened. Or maybe some of them are disconnected and some of them aren't. That's why I said you should consider what they say instead of dismissing them. I didn't say to blindly follow their advice. So basically what you’re both saying is f*** young people?

I'm 45. In college classes w/ 18-23 year olds. I'm even a couple years older than my instructor. Some days I feel old because they weren't born during some major events. But we do have common interests. And these kids aren't punks. They are smart. And silly in a good way.

I turned 31 this year and still basically feel like a kid, by which I mean I feel just as hopeless about myself now as I did at age 15.

I would just like to say I hate this OK boomer bullshit. If you don't listen to advice of someone who has more experience at life than you and at least take it into consideration, you are a complete moron. Or maybe boomers should stop being so f***ing entitled when the majority of them had it easy: you could drop out of high school, get a decent job, get a house, have a family, not worry about the planet killing them.

I'm at the age where I want to kick the ass of any 20 something that thinks he "getting old." But I can't. Because I'm too old to pick fights for stupid reasons. And I would probably get my ass kicked. Because I'm old. At work I had a girl say to me "I'm getting to old for this". I asked her how old she was and let's just say I have a kid older than her. So I get where your coming from. One of my coworkers picked up a shift for another coworker and did an open to close. She told me she was almost 30 and getting too old to do that shit. I’m not sure who she was looking for sympy from telling me that...my schedule for the past two years has been four 10-12 hour bar shifts in a row...and I rarely get to eat or take a break. That and I’m 40 in January so I just gave her a look haha. (But in her defense...you can’t just work one of those shifts out of nowhere after only working 6 hour shifts 4 days a week without hurting.)
