I'm the opposite actually. I would never want to go back to teenage/twenties. When a lot of my friends turned 30 they freaked out and didn't want anyone to know. When I turned 30, I realised I'd been wasting my adult life worrying about what other people think or spending time with people who bring me down. The older I get the less of a shit I give and it's completely freeing. I also have two major life goals, neither of which has a time limit, which is great. I also hate the 'ok boomer' thing. I don't know anyone of "boomer" age who "had it easy". exactly. My parents are boomers and judging from my childhood, and the children around me growing up. they had to work pretty hard to support us.

I'm 45 and I have pain and I'm like "Is this allergies, a pulled nerve or a heart attack?" Like daily. I just had a daughter so I want to live! When I was in my 20's I would drink a bottle of Jack Daniels and just get into fights at White Castle in Brooklyn if someone looked at me funny. Now I'm like moving out of the way for people at the supermarket if they need to get to the cucumbers first. Social distancing etiquette. The worst is thinking about music. Like NIN is my favorite group ever, and Downward Spiral came out in 1994, 26 years ago. 26 years before 1994 is 1968, right before Woodstock. WTF. Like seriously, when DWS came out, Woodstock seemed like a million years before. So you're no longer a drunk jerk looking to start fights with people and now you're considerate to people. This is a bad thing?!

Age is but a number, my friends. I’m 45, and the last twenty years have gone by very quickly. However, I’m slimmer and fitter now than I was then, I’ve got some of the same friends I had, I accept middle age and the limitations but also know that growing up in the 80s and 90s was an amazing time to do so.
Getting old is an inevitability, and while I have regrets about things I’ve not done and missed out on (who doesn’t?), I accept that it is what it is. It happens, folks - we just need to adapt and make it work for us.

I’ve got one for you guys... for the first time, I was just prescribed high blood pressure medicine. I guess it was kind of inevitable... HBP runs on both sides of my family, & the doctors have been watching mine for a while, even though I try to generally eat right & exercise. Hopefully this will help me get it more under control & reduce the risks that go with HBP, but still... makes me feel kinda old to be on that kind of medicine.

I’ll be 50 on my next birthday. My back will be 65. My hip will 60. My knees will be 75

My neighbor lived until his 90s. He'd tell me about how getting old is just daily aches and pains and what you can manage: the joke about 'my body makes more noises than my breakfast cereal' fits here.
Tells me the scary parts are waking up one day and thinking "Wow, I feel great, no aches and pains...
What's wrong with me?!?!"

I would just like to say I hate this OK boomer bullshit. If you don't listen to advice of someone who has more experience at life than you and at least take it into consideration, you are a complete moron. I mean, sure, there's nothing wrong with listening to the older generation for their advice. Problem is a majority of their advice isn't particularly useful anymore and only worked back in their day. The economic and social climate is a different beast than what it was decades ago: wage stagnation amidst inflation, cost of living rising, job listings requiring ridiculous qualifications for ridiculously low pay, etc. I don't necessarily have a problem with boomers but I also don't blame people for being resentful towards them either. They saw the younger generations struggling and not only did a majority of them stall progress fix this, they outright blamed them for it. Of course this doesn't apply to all boomers. My parents are boomers and we grew up mostly poor. That being said, I meet plenty of the stereotype boomers and even work with some. I work at a grocery store BTW.

Millennials are people that came of age in the new millennium so 1982 is generally considered the starting point ending in like 1996. I also like to argue that at least in America, different "decades" happened at different times. Like here in Iowa, you could be born in the late 80's and you are very much more likely a Gen X'er than a Millennial, because you grew up in basically the 80's. At least where I lived, the 80's ended in like 1994, and the 90's ended on Sept 11, 2001. I mean...one of South Park's first episodes was dedicated to the idea that Des Moines was three years behind everyone else, and as a native from that city I'd have to agree...

At 37 let me assure you, you’re the furthest thing from old. Hell, neither am I! You haven’t even sniffed your best years yet. Your 30s are infinitely more fun than your 20s. Fix that mindset and enjoy it while you can. I just turned 32 and was spiraling a little bit last week, and really needed to see this. Thanks.

My early 30s sucked. But it wasn't cause of my age. Mid thru late 30s were good. Early 40s were fun. Now almost to my late 40s and they are a blast.

When I went back to college I was routinely the oldest or second oldest person in all my classes. Yeah, I went back to school a couple of semesters ago... and yeah I tend to be way older than everyone else... even in the night classes. That said a few I have taken had a few people in their mid 60

I'd rather get old than not, cause then I'd probably be dead.
Plus, being older is okay, it's just that you just have to look after yourself a little more in terms of what you eat and stuff. But doing that makes you feel better anyway, so it's a win/win. I don't know, I just don't really miss the anxiety I had when I was younger. Things just seem easier now.
Also boomers are definitely a problem. You won't change my mind on that.

About to be 36, so I'll be closer to 40 than I was 30. It's ok though, I like that not much bothers me anymore and I just don't feel like getting worked up over much anymore.

Back in my day we used our phones to call people. And that was all they did.
And we had 6 or 7 channels. If you missed a show you had to wait till summer when it got repeated.

When I went back to college I was routinely the oldest or second oldest person in all my classes. When I was at university there were a few "older" students who did their degrees alongside their full-time jobs. They took it more seriously because they'd lived a life, did higher quality work and ended up with better degrees than most of us 21-year-olds.

Well we had it tough. We used to have to get up out of the shoebox at twelve o'clock at night, and LICK the road clean with our tongues. We had half a handful of freezing cold gravel, worked twenty-four hours a day at the mill for fourpence every six years, and when we got home, our Dad would slice us in two with a bread knife.
