Gleyber Torres tested positive for COVID.
Just really bad luck for him. Not only was he vaccinated, but he already had COVID already over the offseason.
The CDC is even looking at what happened with the Yankees this week to see what really happened. Because even with the J&J vaccine being less effective at outright prevention than the others, it's still 65% effective. 8 people with that sort of protection all getting it is really weird. Fortunately, there's no serious sickness yet so it seems to be holding up there.

How bad are the Jets that they are screwing the Yankees though their bad ownership.

Drew Robinson playing for the giants minor league team hit a homerun this week.
A year ago he survived a suicide attempt, losing his eye in the process. One of the most inspiring story in sports.

That article on him surviving his suicide attempt is something else. The Giants have other high-end prospects likely in front of him in line for promotions in the near future, but I’m hoping he gets a shot at some point. I’d probably shed a tear ngl.

Well, Yanks laid a wet fart tonight, but at least they won the series in Tampa.

And we all know what that talent did all those years back!

I know literally yesterday I said I’d be happy going for 500, but if the Giants hit any sort of a lull they really should consider trading Kevin Gausman. He’s been stellar since they signed him, and is going to be made R I C H this offseason. Wonder if it’s in Farhan’s budget to spend big on him.
If someone’s offering exciting pieces to add to the future of Ramos and Luciano (among others) you have to consider it.

I know I’m blessed as a Giants fan to have Mike Krukow and Duane Kuiper. They make every single night fun to listen to.
But I don’t really realize HOW blessed I am to listen to them until I’m forced to listen to the Pirates crew and they’re actively putting me to sleep within minutes of listening.

Farhan has been smart with this whole thing and he won't hold on to Gausman unless he can sign him back for he cheap Unless Giants is way up in the standings, he will most likely trade any short term assets to get back prospect pieces

I still hate the extra inning rule so much. This isn’t fxxxing baseball. Doesn’t help they’re about to lose this one,

I like the extra inning rule in theory, but it definitely needs some tweaking. For one thing, the road team has a distinct advantage in going first with the runner starting on second. They can score a cheap run with some sacrifices or bunts and make the home team need to score two runs to win instead.

Still can play an element of small ball but that runner on 1st makes a bigger difference than a bunt getting a runner to 3rd with one out Also in Yankee news, Aaron Hicks has a torn tendon in his left wrist. Same injury that f***ed Tex up a few years and caused him to miss majority of the season but Yankees are trying to avoid surgery if possible Not like this losing much with him out the lineup. He hasn't been good since they gave him that extension. I'm guessing they let Gardner play CF until they get a solution. Florial has been great in minors and living up to his hype so he might get a call up to see what he can do. Otherwise expect Yankees to try to make a move for someone like Gallo

Maybe then they'll finally do something with that 30 year old concrete slab. They got a plan for that too, making it an amphitheater. The A’s have a great vision for the new stadium and the Coliseum site, but again, there are certain elements in the community and in local politics who don’t want us to have nice things. Having just watched the Triple-A Pawtucket Red Sox flee Rhode Island for greener pastures in Worcester, Mass., I don't understand how the City of Oakland is even having second thoughts about this. It's a fair deal, with a $1 billion privately funded waterfront ballpark. They've lost the Warriors to San Francisco. They've lost the Raiders to Las Vegas. All they have left is the Athletics. Lose them, and you lose Oakland as a professional sports city. There's a certain amount of regional pride that comes in being a "professional" city, even if it's only one team. Ask Hartford, Conn. residents how they feel about the Whalers or Vancouver residents how they felt when the Grizzlies flew south. When the NHL or NBA floats relocation or expansion, those cities still dream about a franchise, even though it's the longest of long shots, because they once had a team before. If the Athletics leave, professional sports will never return to Oakland. It'll be viewed as a death sentence for pro sports teams, a place where there's no interest in supporting a franchise on any level. It's not even like Oakland could be used as leverage. They'll just be lumped in with San Francisco as the "Bay Area," but San Francisco or Silicon Valley will get all the teams and all the riches, meanwhile Oakland will just be an empty parking lot devoid of any dollars or any fans. I like the extra inning rule in theory, but it definitely needs some tweaking. For one thing, the road team has a distinct advantage in going first with the runner starting on second. They can score a cheap run with some sacrifices or bunts and make the home team need to score two runs to win instead. It's exciting, yes, but it's also a dumb rule that bastardizes extra innings baseball for all the reasons you laid out. If a game runs 12 or 13 innings, then yes, it's a slog that you just want to end. But once it hits 15 or 16 innings, then it becomes something special, something memorable that you hold onto the ticket. The whole appeal of Game 3 of the 2018 World Series was that it was this marathon game that went until like 3 a.m. Eastern time. With the new extra inning rule, the game is probably over in the 11th inning at the latest and we forget about the game by the time the first pitch is thrown the next night.

A pitcher throws a perfect pitch to the first hitter, gets a tiny weak contact grounder to third advancing the runner to make it runner on third with one out ... It’s downright stupid.

It’s time for the Mets to stop trying to make Jeyrus Famila a thing. Guy gets smacked around all the time. Even when he gets outs

Last night, somebody was trying to sell a counterfeit of the 2017 Commissioner's Trophy on eBay.
I swear, if someone buys that, they're going to get burned.
