Finally managed to finish my Adept run... and the universe is now Minty Fresh! {Spoiler}{Spoiler}{Spoiler}{Spoiler} Between the Catalyst gushing about it and the EDI lines at the end they really drive home that they consider the best ending making everything mint green >_> {Spoiler}{Spoiler}{SPOILER: CLICK TO SHOW}To me, it's the most horrifying. Red all the way here. {Spoiler}Each ending is morally problematic one way or another.
Synthesis is pretty much a rape of nature, forcing an extremely invasive change on the entire galaxy's population.
Destroy is a genocide of the Geth, as well as killing a much-loved crew member.
Control effectively turns Shepard into a literal god with a fleet of Reapers at his command. Perhaps not so terrible if you played 100% paragon, but a renegade Shepard-God? The entire galaxy would live in fear.

{Spoiler}I feel like Destroy with High EMS is the best one. Not just because Shepard survives, but also because it fulfills the objectives of the original mission to destroy the Reapers and with the least possible collateral damage, including being able to repair the Citadel and the Mass Relay network. I'm sad about the geth's destruction and EDI's death, but it's the closest to a happy ending for Shepard and everyone else in what was otherwise a war of galactic extinction. And the geth would've been annihilated by the Reapers anyway (or already annihilated by the quarians if you didn't charm both peoples into cooperating and sided with Tali). It also allows the organic peoples true self-determination without forcing synthesis on them. Or living at the mercy of a Machine-God with a fleet of omnicidal robots at their command.

45 hours into the first game. {Spoiler}'Bye, Kaiden! Only Ilos and the final battle to go. Definitely the weak link in the trilogy; the combat mechanics are a little janky even with the L.E. tweaks, and I was surprised at just how little dialogue you have with your squadmates compared to the sequels.

One of the things I liked about ME3 in particular is that crew members moved around the ship, had banter with each other or the other people on the ship, had conversations over the intercom, etc. Made it feel more alive versus just NPC's waiting for Shepard to talk their ear off. Outside of the Alliance deciding that good lighting Cerberus put in wasn't necessary, ME3's Normandy was my favorite incarnation of the ship.
{Spoiler}That said, I wish my Shepard could've given Garrus a fistbump for hooking up with Tali. She was so happy for her bro.

What always annoyed me about the ME 3 Normandy was they completely blocked of an entranceway... specifically the left side that I always used when moving about the top of the ship since Mass Effect 1.

The security grid that felt like it was one of those "we're cleverly hiding a loading screen" things between the Galaxy Map and the War Room was also annoying. Though you could mod that out of the PC version at least lol.
At least it isn't the elevator moving at a crawl between the Crew Deck and Engineering/Garage like in ME1.

there is a great bit of interaction with Garrus in the Citadel DLC... {Spoiler} as you take the elevator to the hangar if Garrus is in yoru party he'll say something like "Anyone want to say anything interesting about their species right now? ... no?... I miss when we would chat on these slow elevator rides."

I finished 1 tonight. I didn’t get many feels from it but I never have. It’s all about 2 and 3 to me.
I played pretty much the same as I usually do. The only different choices I made this time were not romancing anyone since I want to get with Tali at the end. I don’t know the parameters to do so so I hope I didn’t miss anything. And I let the council die this time around (my only real renegade decision all game) because f*** them.
My only real disappointment was I did everything I know of in the game and was only on level 57. I know of the infinite spawning Destroyer at the end of the game but I wasn’t about to spend an hour sniping one spot for a trophy. I’ve gotten level 60 on other play through. I did it in around 38 hours.
Bring on 2!

Just finished the first game. Played around with the photo mode on the final level. Felt odd going into the battle with Liara. 95% of the game I just used Garrus and Tali. Out of curiosity, why did you change for the last mission?

I’ve always just brought Wrex and Ashley to almost every mission after I got the trophies for using the other team members 5 times each. Using matching Colossus gear, of course.

I usually rotated a lot of my characters in the games, but Liara and Garrus ended up being my main squad for the big missions in ME1 and 3 outside of when I needed mandatory squadmates. Good mix of biotic and tech, and in ME3, tackling vulnerabilities for armor, shields, and barriers.

much like in a JJ Abrams movie the lense flares added nothing but needless zazz to the game

Bioware really likes its lens flares.

Started the second game. Easily my favourite of the trilogy. "This is fine." Such a great line. Think I might romance Miranda this time.

I started my third run through and it's funny literally each time I've played this game I Run into sidequests I've somehow missed before...
Probably going to cool it after this... but still I love the series enough to do 3 play throughs in relatively quick succession >_>
I keep remembering all the stuff I hate about ME 1 every time I play it and was glad to see gone.
the inventory system, the Geth Jumpy-bastards, the ragdoll physics for enemy biotics, the force you to overheat and expend your powers attacks some enemies have, and like a lot of the targetting is really bad...

That's the one thing really putting me off doing a new playthrough using a different class. ME1 is a good game, but it's very mid-'00s in a lot of ways and I'm not sure I want to put the effort of another 50-hour playthrough just to get to the second and third games.
