Blue sons would be a lot cooler if they didn't have any of those filthy Batarians in their ranks Better than having Vorcha in the Blood Pack. Which is why we should all join the eclipes!

So, I've started ME2. My Shep is a sole survivor and I forgot just how much hand-waving the game does in order for you to join Cerberus. I felt a little bit like this... {Spoiler}{Spoiler}{SPOILER: CLICK TO SHOW}

{Spoiler}And apparently the Illusive Man's been indoctrinated the entire time, which makes you wonder why he even brought Shepard back to life to begin with considering they were killed by the Reapers' pawns in the Collectors.

going through Mass Effect One again... and I started just randomly thinking about one of the biggest problems still with Mass Effect 3. Kai Leng. He comes out of nowhere in the story... doesn't do a whole lot... is never really introduced... and is basically just generic cyber-ninja. From what I remember Even if you read the comics where he's from it's not like he has any connection to Shepard or anything or even particularly interesting... It would be one thing if he was the mid-game boss and he's gone after {Spoiler}{Spoiler}The Citadel invasion attempt But no for all intents and purposes {Spoiler}{Spoiler} he is the last boss of Mass Effect 3... in that he is the last boss that you fight before getting into the endgame <_< It's not even hard to even somewhat improve him... I thought of 2 while cruising around the mako. 1. Have him show up in the other games... this is the hardest to implement as they'd have to have planned his involvement from the start... but it could have been done. Like have him be a low level thug on the Citadel or something... like one of the people that try to attack Tali or the Crimeboss before that... in the second have him be part of one of the missions and establish that he has nothing but contempt for Shepard and Shepard doesn't like him either... maybe some sort of one upsmaship happening during the mission. then his inclusion in the third game isn't so massively out of place. the other idea is... well don't have him in the third game. give his place in the plot to someone else. have the ninja type thing show up a few times in a full face mask then when you are actually introduced to Kai Leng in the story ... have the mask get knocked off and have it be someone Sheperd knows allowing them time to escape. Two ideas I had for that would be... A. Jacob, you'd have to change around another mission in the game but having it be one of the squaddies turn on you could be interesting. Could potentially do a thing where you can get him to join you at the end if he was loyal/survived Mass Effect 2... otherwise have it be that when they {Spoiler}{Spoiler} got to the collector base or whatever's left to it to salvage the Human Reaper they found Jacob's body and used reaper tech to patch him up so now he's fully indoctrinated. B. Conrad, not as detailed here but it seems like a natural progression that someone easily tricked and who basically desperately wants to be Shepard to get tricked by the IM to join Cerberus and get all of these cybernetic implants like Shepard. This of course would be a much more of a downer ending for Conrad than what he actually got.

I think he was in a novel? Yeah, he's more or less the main antagonist in the latter two novels, leading the hunt first for Paul Grayson (the protagonist of one novel) and his daughter (the protagonist of the other). He has a couple of confrontations with Anderson, from what I remember.

Lang reminded me of General Grievous. Unless you're really into the extra content of the series, it's out of nowhere and it's hard to care.

But Star wars did it better, they made Grievous this cool looking MFer and gave the viewers basically nothing but he was popular enough that people wanted to go and look for all the extra lore to know more about him. Lang on the other hand is just super lame and uninteresting that most people weren't gonna invest the time to seek out extra lore on this big fat 0

Only he got dishonorably discharged and sent to prison for murdering a krogan in a bar fight. Cerberus busted him out and he became one of their top agents afterwards. The comics with him and Rasa are pretty good as are the novels, but he is pretty lame in ME3. One of the few characters I thought fell flat in that game.

They look cool but do almost nothing with them in the movies Kai Leng is a pretty generic looking Cyborg Ninja... with a Nightwing mask >_>

Red all the way here. {Spoiler} they do specifically state that the change could not be forced on people... that said it is a fundamental change in existence with not much of an actual explanation as to what happens to people... other than they get weird green lines and glowing green eyes >_>
what is interesting to me is Destroy from simply a lives saved stand point is probably the worst... as you kill any synthetic life forms in the galaxy... and the catalyst even says something to suggest even people that have cybernetic implants would be effected as well. That said it is likely the way they are going to go in the supposed continuation...
then again the ending of the game also kinda hints that the entire series is a story an oldman is telling his grandchild. >_>
