I really have no idea how the comics industry survived the 90s. Maybe cause comic sales hit the highest figures they ever have in the 90s. Sure they slumped right afterwards. But 92 thru about 95 were the highest sales since the Golden Age era.

Just because we might not like something doesn’t mean it’s not extremely popular or successful. Like isn’t WWE technically the most profitable it has ever been or at least close to it? But not many longtime fans are accusing it of being a high point.

To be fair people like Kon-El and Cable. And Superboy's costume is one of the best of the era, IMHO. And to be fair to Cable, he usually looks pretty cool when he's not being drawn by Rob Liefeld.

There was also Aquaman with the long hair and beard, as well as the claw. I also remember Superman with shoulder-length hair.

Was it as bad as rebranding something as "2000" to make it seem hip?

I remember Fox Kids having the slogan of "Experience the Extreme!" What the hell is that supposed to mean?

Say what ya will about 90s comics, it was an exciting time to be a fan. Even out-there ideas like the blue energy Superman felt more like a fun detour than anything.

(warning: language)
I think this scene from "Harold and Kumar" encapsulates the EXTREME! trend of the mid-late 1990s, even though it was filmed in 2004. It still looks like the late 1990s here.

Let’s not forget that one line from the Simpsons from 1997.
Homer (as Poochie): “Remember kids. Always recycle TO THE EXTREME!”

Was it as bad as rebranding something as "2000" to make it seem hip? Okay my mind is being weird, don't remember Steiner as part of nWo Silver n Black. Remember Hart, Jarrett, Nash, and Hall. So I guess second question, why isn't Hall in that pic?

So I guess second question, why isn't Hall in that pic? Pretty sure from reading the WCW thread that Hall was sent home before that point. When Bret went out from his concussions they added the Harris twins IIRC.
