To be fair, while I understand your feelings, the guy took a steaming crap on the rest of the cast with his book and various interviews. It's hard NOT to take that personally, even if he did express some remorse near the end. Yeah, I'll admit it got increasingly hard to defend him as years went on and that really sucked. And I know he claimed his book was ghostwriten but the stories had to have blossomed from something so I understand the cast's issues. But from a character stand point. He's the only one to be in every variation of the show. They could have at least given the fans some sort of closure. But we don't even know what happened. All we know is Max dedicated a burger to him BTW. I read his booked and outside of a few stories. It wasn't bad. But I'll admit some of the stories specifically about Mario were pretty bad. Maybe they didn't want to mention a death specifically as it would hit too close to home. In what ways, that can be a lot of discussion. And shoot, they don't even count The New Class, so that's like ignoring a big part of the character's history. As I said, this was very WWE-ish in that they try to do something for someone who passed that they fell out with. But it leaves you wanting more and feeling like, WHY DIDN'T YOU SAY NICE STUFF WHEN HE/SHE WAS STILL ALIVE? As far as Screech "being" SBTB...hard to argue. It's between him and Zack. He did get sillier as the series continued. What's funny is, someone else mentioned Dustin being up for the role of Shaggy I guess in the live action Scooby-Doos? Well by the time of The New Class, Screech WAS Shaggy. I think he even used "Zoinks!" as a catchphrase too.

As fans we're like "Well, last season they said he was in space, and now they seem to be mourning him, so I guess he died in space" they didn't even say why they were remembering him.

I think he even used "Zoinks!" as a catchphrase too. Yeah. Dustin actually studied under Casey Kasem while preparing for the role. Rumor is Dustin was a big fan and they stayed in contact after Casey's appearance on SBTB. And yes, if you go back and watch the the final seasons of New Class you can get a hint of how perfect he would have been as Shaggy. Which brings up another topic. Dustin's underrated skills as a voice actor. Even going back to his childhood you can see he had a knack for voices and impressions. As you can tell I was a big fan of his. I even bought a t-shirt to "save his house". And even though I admit, seeing him in reality shows proved he may not have been the greatest person. But I always felt it was unfair that his talents were always hidden deeply underneath his Screech persona.

You know, I’m surprised how Dennis Haskins has kept a low profile for so long. Up until late 2019, he was pretty much all over the place on social media or milking his mr Belding came for all its worth where ever he could. Then this new shows is announced you don’t hear a word from him. Not even when fans asking “where’s me belding?” Or when Dustin diamond died. He spent 5 years paired with him on the new class

The reboot, after realizing Zack Morris was in it, probably effin' killed itself.
