Hi, due to obvious reasons, my usual pastime in advance to Christmas in Germany (visiting various Christmas markets in neighboring cities) is not possible this year and since our government advocates staying inside (which is easy since I have lost my job in October and am currently searching for a new one), I have lots of time sitting at home. Therefore, I would like for you to recommend Christmas media to watch, i.e. Christmas-related feature films, TV specials, shorts, episodes of TV shows etc. (preferably animated, but real-life are OK too), so that I can put myself into the Christmas spirit in the next few weeks. Already have two things scheduled: the Joel & Mike Christmas episodes of MST3K ("Santa Claus Conquers The Martians" and "Santa Claus"). Have at me, y'all!

Muppet's Christmas Carol to start with. Plus, as many of those old Coke Cola adverts with the lorries driving through the town as you can find.

If you want something off-kilter, I recommend "Rare Exports". A mining company uncovers the grave of the original Santa Claus/Krampus and frees him to cause havok in a small Finish town.

"Just Friends" is a surprisingly good dumb comedy, if you're into that sort of thing.
I'd also second "Rare Exports" as at least an interesting movie. Has a great one liner about how a character now knows how Santa can be in a million places at once.
Not strictly Christmas related, but "My December" by Linkin Park and "Love Like Winter" by AFI are songs I find myself coming back to a lot this time of year.

Tokyo Godfathers is the quintessential anime holiday movie. Both poignant and darkly funny.

The Holiday. A hokey premise (Kate Winslet & Cameron Diaz's characters switching homes) with a seemingly absurd coupling (Winslet & Jack Black?!)
Yet it has real heart & the all the actors make the concept work.

THE CONJURING 2 works simultaneously as a jumpscare-happy horror movie, and as a saccharine-sweet Holiday movie.

Mixed Nuts. Takes place at a suicide hotline on Christmas Eve. A fun movie with an all star cast including Steve Martin, Madalyn Khan, Rita Wilson, Adam Sandler, Juliet Lewis.

If you're watching the Joel and Mike Christmas MST3K's, you can add on the Jonah one of 'The Christmas That Almost Wasn't'.

Muppet Family Christmas - find it on YouTube, song rights have held up any commercial release
Vicar of Dibley - The Christmas Lunch Incident is one of the funniest things I’ve ever seen. There are a few other Christmas episodes of the show that are also great.

The Hey Arnold and Invader Zim Christmas specials are great in their own ways. Also Batman TAS' "Christmas With The Joker".

There are a few other Christmas episodes of the show that are also great. And if you think Disney owning everything helps, nah. Still have the Sesame Workshop and non-Muppet Holding Company franchises there, besides the music. YES YES YES about the VOD episode. Alice's mother = one of the best characters to imitate. Wait for New Year's Eve to watch the Ab Fab episode on that holiday, from season 3. A classic, IMO. (we meet Patsy's sister Jackie, for instance) Along with the MST3K episodes, try Rifftrax's Christmas special and their versions of the two MSTed films.
