Scrooged. It's a somewhat forgotten Bill Murray movie, and I have no idea why. It, along with Christmas Vacation, are my two Christmas movies. One is the journey to Christmas, and the second IS Christmas.
Besides it being a tremendous comedy, it also has the best character redemption speech at the end. Not the usual syrupy altruistic schlock.
While not animated, I'd also recommend Granada's adaptation of the Sherlock Holmes story The Blue Carbuncle. Granada set the episode during Christmas, and it works wonderfully. Always takes me back to the late 80s / 90s network television era where you'd have the happy holidays message from the cast at the end of the episode.
For an animated choice, the 1982 short movie The Snowman. It's a beautiful movie with no dialogue, I grew up watching it constantly.

While it's not a Christmas movie per se, Wakko's Wish is a great pick.
Christmas Eve on Sesame Street is a decent choice too as it's still in the early pre-Elmo era of Sesame Street so you get that classic feel of the series in it, plus a scene where Oscar takes a hell of a bump.
Beavis and Butt-Head Do Christmas is one of my favorites, fun parodies of Christmas Carol and It's a Wonderful Life

Is that the one where Bert and Ernie trade in their favorite possessions to get gifts for each other? Yup, a full Gift of the Magi take. I knew of the version with Dr. Forrester and TV'S Frank first. This special apparently also sees Oscar curse off Big Bird (you don't hear it due to a passing train).

Along with the MST3K episodes, try Rifftrax's Christmas special and their versions of the two MSTed films. I wholeheartedly endorse Rifftrax's Christmas with Whizzo video. That thing is a descenting spiral into madness!

Charlie Brown would work for me, today. It makes me cry, sometimes.. and being in a car accident this afternoon, the pain is bringing the tears.

Thank you all for your wonderful recommendations and giving me more than I could hope for to watch. Even those that I do not watch this year, I can still watch in the following Christmas seasons.

I know people always say Die Hard when it comes to action movies set around Christmas. I know I mentioned Lethal Weapon, but what about The Long Kiss Goodnight? Hell, even Die Hard 2 rarely gets mentioned. I could put in movies from Shane Black in general as I believe The Last Boy Scout was set around that time, as well as Iron Man 3. I plan to finally watch Kiss Kiss Bang Bang, by the way.
Also, I might check out LA Confidential as I heard that takes place around Christmastime. Another recommendation is Friday After Next.

Bad(der) Santa. Don’t be fooled by Netflix using the Badder Santa title card, get the actual Badder Santa DVD if at all possible. It’s excellent.
Bad Santa 2 is not as good. It’s the only movie I’ve gone to theatres and saw by myself. I don’t mean I just went alone, I mean I was the only person in the theatre.
The first movie is totally hinged on the kid and the sequel makes that crystal clear. While the kid is still there his character hasn’t really grown and is kind of sad now because he probably missed out on attention he needed, if you know what I mean. Though the best jokes are still all him, he’s a minor character in the film.

The Holiday. A hokey premise (Kate Winslet & Cameron Diaz's characters switching homes) with a seemingly absurd coupling (Winslet & Jack Black?!) Yet it has real heart & the all the actors make the concept work. Seconded. As someone who's iffy on Jack Black, I have to say he was absolutely delightful in this one. Still a little goofy but turned down from an 8 to a 5

Also, the Pinky and the Brain Christmas special is surprisingly emotional. To the point that La Marche and Paulson were in tears when recording the big emotional part of the script apparently

The Batman: Brave and the Bold Christmas episode, “Invasion of the Secret Santas” is really charming, the ending in particular being a real heart warmer.

As already mentioned, a Muppet Christmas Carole is a treasure. Michael Caine is the best Scrooge I've ever seen.
Another favorite of mine is The Santa Clause. It takes an inherently silly premise of Tim Allen turning into Santa and really makes it work. The jokes all land and it has a surprising amount of heart.
I'll also second the Jonah MST3K episode "The Christmas that almost wasnt", and the Batman, Hey Arnold and Invader Zim Xmas specials. I'll also add the Justice League Christmas special.
