Jonathan Taylor Thomas career died with the 90’s Does quitting acting count in this in order to go to college? I would figure it was about someone who worked dried up without a reason. Speaking of this, I would say a lot of child stars ended up not getting work when they grow up or a lot of it. See Culkin and lot of the nick stars. Like everyone who was every on the 90s Nick shows. Its a short list of people who had anything beyond that. The rare cases like Kennan Thompson who still somebody.

Chuck Norris. Pretty much one of the "big 4" of action stars in the 80s (the others being arnold, stallone, and Charles Bronson), but his only theatrical film in the 90s, Top Dog flopped, and he stayed out of the spotlight after that (aside from making some Political statements that we will not discuss here), until 2005 when he became a meme.
Johnny Cash. HUGE through the 70s, but by the 80s he just wasnt getting attention from the Country audience that he once did, though he at least did have the career revival in the mid-90s thanks to Rick Rubin, which introduced him to a new generation of fans.

The Bee Gees' relevance (and disco and a whole in America) died with the 70's. Now I'm thinking of this: Bee Gees were huge in the UK in the 90s/2000s

John Travolta came into the '80s riding high on the successes of Saturday Night Fever, Grease, and Urban Cowboy, only to have a string of flops with Two of a Kind, Staying Alive, and Perfect. He pretty much took the rest of the decade off, only to come back huge in the '90s. There was the Look Who's Talking movies (but obviously he wasn't the draw). Well, the first one was in '89, so I look at that more as the start of the '90s comeback that would be solidified with Pulp Fiction.

Does Larry the Cable guy count?
In the 200os he was the breakout star of the Blue Collar Comedy Tour, and that catapulted him into a film career that at least landed him the iconic role of Mater in the Cars series...
Then when the 2010s happened we all apparently sobered up, and outside of a small project here and there he hasn't done much of anything since.

Michael Jackson - 2001. Following Invincible, there wasn't anything of note career wise (commercially created a buzz and did well against contemporary artists, but failed by Jackson's own standards)
Although his actual death did kill a career comeback...

Brendan Fraser's career took a massive nosedive towards the end of the 2000s. He obviously still got work here and there, but nothing close to the level he had for the previous 15 years or so.

Philip Michael Thomas's career pretty much died in '89 once Miami Vice ended.

Mister T practically vanished when the 90s began (although he had a good part in Freaked). His career was already on the decline after the A-Team ended. How about Steve Gutenberg? Did he do ANYTHING notable after the 80s? Veronica Mars Brendan Fraser's career took a massive nosedive towards the end of the 2000s. He obviously still got work here and there, but nothing close to the level he had for the previous 15 years or so. His career "died" because he was blackballed due to speaking out about being sexually harrassed.

Mickey Rooney was the biggest box office draw from 1939 through to 1940. Spanning two decades.

Brendan Fraser's career took a massive nosedive towards the end of the 2000s. He obviously still got work here and there, but nothing close to the level he had for the previous 15 years or so. From what I understand, there's 2 reasons for that. He suffered a serious back injury that prevented him from doing a lot of the action-intensive movies he had been doing previously. He also accused an agent or sexually harassing him. In the days before #MeToo it was basically career suicide because the asshole got him blackballed from a lot of projects. I'm really happy for him having a bit of a resurgence on Doom Patrol.
