The knock off Statue of Liberty was pretty goofy in Schumacher's Gotham. It was fine, the random statues throughout the city were cool, but that one was just like "ok we're doing this now." Then again Riddler had his headquarters in a gigantic blender that shot lasers. The Statue of Justice/Freedom is in the comics though... as well as TAS

That doesn't make it LESS goofy..haha. fair enough. Yeah, but it's not a mark against Schumaker for using some inspiration points from the comics Goofy as it might be... especially since New York was eventually stated to exist in the DC Universe...which I guess means there are two big lady statues? >_>

I do find it amusing how the big criticism (for some) abut Nolan's Batman was the insistence of realism when both BB and Rises were ridiculously schlocky. From ninjas to poisoning the water hole to blowing up a football stadium and literally going nuclear. When you watch them all back to back TDK is the clear mismatch, for better or worse.
TDK still holds up IMO as not just the best superhero movie but a great film in general. Even more so now with his decision to unleash the tracking system and how insidiously corporations have further embedded themselves into our lives.
