Yup. It's why I'm utterly baffled why people are clamoring for her to lose the title already. I mean she still has quite a bit of gas left in the tank in this reign, and I don't think Raquel or Toni could fill the shoes left behind at this time. Yeah, you just gotta hit the sweet spot where she's had it long enough that she's had a proper go of it, but not too long that it starts holding others back and getting stale.

Io isn't a dominant champion where her title reigns get boring like a Shayna...she held the Stardom red belt for 500+ days and like 14 defences and not a single complaint that I can remember ever came out that her reign was boring in any sense because every single match was competitive to the highest degree.
The issue is and will probably continue to be is that....Io does so much for any womens division that moving on from her especially as she is in her prime is not something you just choose to do...because you are losing alot when the time comes it is why Stardom didn't just f***ing hot shot the belts off of to just anyone....they waited untill they knew they had the proper people in place...Momo with the white belt and Mayu with the red belt to continue the quality Io set.
It should be the same way in NXT but when you have it as good as you do with the best in her prime you should not be in any rush to change it and HHH should not be.

Imo she doesn't need a long reign She can easily lose the title and work her way back to it in 3 months if they had choose to do so. I'd rather sell her a little short then watch her get long in the tooth like Shayna and Asuka did However, unlike Shayna and Asuka she has shown some vulnerability which has helped her big time It definitely helps that the division is much stronger with Io than it was with Shayna/Asuka. With Shayna, the only credible threats she had were Kairi Sane(before she got called up) Io Shirai and Rhea Ripley. With Asuka, the only credible threat she had was Bayley(until she got called up) and later Ember Moon. With Io, you can look no further than the War Games match to see how stacked the division is. Every person in that match would make for a good title contender and champion and that's not even including girls like Tegan Nox, who's injured, and Mercedes Martinez, who's in limbo.

I think the frequency of NXT's women main eventing has become even more welcome and striking with it not really happening much in the last few months on the main roster. The thing too is that it's not just where the division is at, it's exciting to think about where it's going to go. Even say in Raquel's case, I don't think people would have expected her to improve as much as she has in a short time.

The Champion makes the division.
Raw and SmackDown a full of talented wrestlers, but there are long periods of time where it sucks, because the Champions aren’t bringing anything out in their challengers.
Every single person Io has faced has walked out looking better than when they walk in.
Out of all the women in Sunday’s War Games, the woman with the least experience, walked out a challenger. She could have easily been just a big body to help catch flying bodies. Io took a crazy bump and the pin and made Raquel look like a force. As Champ, with 7 other competitors in there, she certainly didn’t have to.

My friends and I were just talking about the NXT Women's Championship the other day. It's probably one of the most prestigious championships of all time. Here are some stat comparisons:
- NXT Women's Championship debuted in June 2013, has only had 10 different champions and 12 title reigns in the last 7 and 1/2 years.
- WWE Divas Championship spanned from 2008 - 2016 (8 years), with 17 different champions and 26 title reigns
- WWE Raw Women's Championship, April 2016 - present (4 & 1/2 years), with 8 different champions and 18 title reigns
- WWE Smackdown Women's Championship, August 2016 - present (4 years), with 8 different champions and 17 title reigns
- WWE Women's Tag Team Championship, Feb 2019 - present (Less than 2 years), with 5 different tag teams and 7 title reigns

With how f***ed the top of the card got due to their unlucky breaks, the women's division being as stacked as it is has helped NXT stay eith their heads above water, and in a good way.
I just fear for all these girls if they ever get called up cause the main roster couldn't give two shits about like three women at a time.

For me they are NXT, none of the guys are even close to their level in my book, the women are just so damn good.

It's NXT's strongest suit, so they should lean into it.
That said, I also don't think it's hurting for them that the NXT title is still not where it was before Kross got injured and had to vacate it. Balor is a good stop gap, but he still has taken a big back seat not only to the women, but the NA title feud and UE/Pat feud. Hell, it feels like Grimes and Loomis are more important to the brand right now.

Hell, it feels like Grimes and Loomis are more important to the brand right now. It really feels like there’s isn’t really any man in NXT right now with completely undeniable momentum, like Keith Lee had this time last year. Most of that is because of how the NXT title scene hasn’t really fully recovered from losing Lee to the main roster in the first place, in my opinion. Because of that, they had to transition the belt to Kross, he gets hurt in that match and vacates the belt, Balor wins it (which DID help his own indifferent second NXT run, to be fair), but then HE gets hurt in his first defense and they’re like “AH F*** IT, just leave it on him, we’ll make do without a top title” because it would have been REALLY regressive just to put it back on Cole, Gargano or Ciampa. But yeah, nobody’s really on that mega-roll right now. In terms of those who’d be available, Kushida’s strung a few wins together, but it just made him a believable challenger, not “the next champion” yet. Others like Grimes, Priest and Lumis... their respective schticks are popular, but not to that extent. The closest would probably be O’Reilly, which they’d just done, or possibly even Dunne.

And it is the way it should be...we constantly sing the praise and they are finally speaking it on commentary as they should.
Candice Indi Shotzi Rhea Toni Raquel Scarlett satanic triad ladies
All that without Dakota , Ember or the champ herself tonight.
Might need a new word to describe this division because stacked is just not enough.

The women are pretty much the only reason I still watch wrestling these days. Especially in NXT, they're killing it.
I'm a huge mark for Rhea, and I love having a wrestler to actually root for like a fan instead of just watching the moves. It's like when I was a younger fan.

Overloaded Even the ones who aren't ready like Indi has the personality to be on TV and can take her time since the division is so stacked. Xia is getting a big push without even being on TV to wrestle and same with Karen Q who isn't even mentioned by name yet but getting big hype vignettes

I'm actually surprised they had Toni and Rhea main event. I'm not complaining because unlike their other matches together it was pretty good, but I thought Dunne vs. O'Reilly would've been in that spot.

It felt weird to have the match that on paper is the main event...in what was the middle of the show. But it again goes to show both the strength and faith of HHH to put the NXT women in the main event over that match and it was a match that did not involve the champ at all.

Something I think NXT does well too is using that entire roster in some way, shape, or form. Even if they maybe aren't doing something important, they are still around. So when they start doing a storyline, we're familiar with who they are. Bayley, Sasha, Billie, Peyton all started as enhancement talent and they became huge stars. Xia Li has been around getting some wins, but also mainly being enhancement talent. Now she's involved in something that has some teeth and she's doing great with it. Dakota was a very middle of the road talent until her injury and now she's a top star. Candice was really just Johnny's wife for like the first year she was in NXT and while she still is, she's actually her own character now. Raquel was a body for the MYC and now she's likely the next challenger to the title. We actually get to see these women develop their characters and grow as performers and we as an audience feel rewarded for investing our time in them.

I feel like the main roster might end up calling some women up sooner than later because, woof, the main roster women's divisions are kind of... not super. Still, that's a problem for the future. Right now, NXT enjoys what I feel comfortable calling the strongest women's roster in North America overall. I hope that when Io loses the title, it's to someone who can really do something with that win.
