Only one. To a full-time contract. Who would ya like?
Okada for me hands down. The world needs another Okada/Omega match. Specifically Dave Meltzer needs it.

Seeing the Rainmaker or the Ace full time would be cool but im gonna go with Naito. Having Naito and his tranquilo attitude against some of the AEW roster would be great....
Plus I'd love to see what AEW could do with their own version of Los Ingobernables

Ibushi - both as a talent and for the great stories you could tell with Omega.

Gah. The easy answer is Okada.
For me? f*** it: Jay White.

Ibushi - both as a talent and for the great stories you could tell with Omega. Agreed but first I’d like to see Omega return to NJPW to try to collect from IWGP champ Ibushi. Hiromu would be a great get too. Put him vs PAC or Fenix right into my eyeballs

I'd try to gauge this by which NJPW wrestlers would be best suited for both American style wrestling/storytelling, as well as being on a TV-centric promotion with weekly aired shows.
With that being the case, I think the top guys they might get the most out of would be the two H.T. guys: Hiroshi Tanahashi and Hiromu Takahashi. Tana is just pure physical charisma and knows how to rally a crowd behind him better than nearly anyone. No, he's not a great promo, but he's magnetic and embraces the storytelling side of wrestling in ways few have. Hiromu, meantime, embodies the "Time Bomb" gimmick and has a look and style that would instantly get him over, combined with his reckless fighting style that would make his matches an attraction.
There are other guys you could go for, too: I get wanting Okada, who clearly enjoys working in front of western audiences, but I think he's just so perfectly suited for the live events-based style of NJPW, makes me wonder if being on weekly TV could somehow dampen his aura. Western audiences would (and do!) love Minoru Suzuki, but he's also in the twilight of his career; similar thing with Tomohiro Ishii, who's over as hell in the US and UK but might be better suited to the puro schedule and show style.
Left field suggestion: El Desperado. Dude's got the look, gimmick, charisma, and in-ring work to back it all up. Have him be the dirtbag heel he is in Suzuki-gun in front of an American crowd and I think he'd get over strong.

Someone who has no ties to Kenny.
Maybe Shota Umino, so we can see him with Mox again.

You either pick someone who already hit the mountain top (Okada, Tana)
Or
Use AEW as a way for young lions to get better.

okada is the obvious choice. tanahashi for a match with jericho not full time though ace vs ace so to speak on the end of their runs. naito character-wise would be a nice contrast to the others. ibushi i feel would be too tied to omega to carve out a niche in his own right. minoru susuki just so i can hear everyone yelling "kaze ni nare" during his entrances every week or so. or as the joker in the next double or nothing battle royal (or whatever it's called). since he's winding down i dunno if he'd want a full time schedule but he's a guaranteed "mystery partner" pop guy. jay white i don't really care much for or against. Evil i see as going to the wwe guy due to Io being there. sanada could be interesting since he's still young.

Sign Jay White, strap a rocket to his smug ass and watch Tony Khan's fat wallet get even fatter.

Naito is my top choice because I'm such a fan of his. His charisma is off the charts.
But, and I think he's a free agent, but I would love to see Suzuki killing people.

There's so many NJPW people I'd love to see in AEW, but if I had to pick one, it'd be Tanahashi. But I could make really good cases for Ibushi, Okada, White, Takahashi, Naito, or Suzuki, too. Tanahashi's just the Ace and he not only has history with a lot of AEW talent, but also opportunity for fresh matches.
Young Lion-type I'd love to see in AEW is Shota Umino given his connection to Moxley.

Jay White would fit in best with the AEW style and roster, IMO. Tanahashi or Okada next.

I think AEW should spend some time building their upper carders into true main event attractions first, but it'd be cool if Jay White or Will Ospreay showed up.
