He said, “I was lying in the middle of the ring waiting for Private Party to hit Event Omega which is a combination splash and leg drop off the top rope. I got kind of rocked. What many people online don’t know because they weren’t in the situation was that I wasn’t knocked out. I was awake the whole time. I remember everything and knew where I was. I knew what was going on in the match. I definitely did a self-check of myself, fingers and toes.
The big thing everyone was complaining about was Pepper (Parks), The Blade, dragged me to the corner. What people are not understanding is I just took a double team move, whether I got hurt or not, off the top rope in a four way tag. In order to win the match, you have to be legal. So Pepper drags me to his corner so he can become legal and try to win the match. People were upset. Yeah, I was just laying there because I was selling this incredible move, but I was also rocked. I was making sure I was ok. I’ve been wrestling long enough to know, ok, I know where I am. I’m pretty sure I can continue.
John looked at me and asked if I was ok, and I said, ‘yea, I think I’m ok.’ Then I slide into the ring laying down the whole time. I said, ‘ok, this is our spot.’ While I was on the ground and the doc was checking on me, once I stood up, I realized, oh no. That’s when everybody realized I was hurt. It’s chaotic and I’ll be honest, the worst part of it was the feedback I was getting on social media. That was the hardest thing because the doctors and everybody, once they knew I was hurt and once I knew I was hurt, I was like, I’m done. Get me out of here. People sit back and watch it with the knowledge that I was already hurt. Did they handle it wrong? No, they handled it perfectly. Thankfully, I’m ok and cleared and ready to go.”
