One thing that I have enjoyed in the past decade is this Christmas tradition known as the "Miracle on 34th Street Fight." Some of them have the corniest, yet appealing setups going into them. For example, the 2012 Christmas Eve Raw had Alberto Del Rio hit Santa Claus with his car. Although the setup was so cheesy, it was also fun. With John Cena challenging Del Rio FOR SANTA! Not to mention the Jingle Bells bit with the vital signs monitor.
Then there was the following year, with the Evil Santa (Damien Sandow) and the Good Santa (Mark Henry). The bits with the Evil Santa were funny, especially with him telling that little girl that Christmas was canceled. Let's not forget the start of Raw with Mark and Damien doing their poetry reading and the edits between bits from the two. Either I might put on that episode of Raw soon or maybe my Ring in the Holiday DVD.
As for the matches, I did like Cena vs. ADR. I also liked David Otunga vs. Randy Orton. I know there were more, but I enjoyed these two matches.
Which matches did you like? What about storylines going into them?

My favorite is definitely the Orton one, it was just so out of nowhere and so fun. The goofier these matches are the better.

The Year Del Rio ran over Santa Claus is probably one of my favorite "recent" WWE episodes

Yeah it's definitely the Cena/Del Rio one. It's the last time I watched Monday Night Raw and was thoroughly entertained beginning to end.

My favorite is definitely the Orton one, it was just so out of nowhere and so fun. The goofier these matches are the better. Orton vs. Otunga is the best match, just because whenever Randy gets weird, starts ad-libbing, or breaks character, it's amazing. The Cena/Del Rio episode is better overall, though. It's one of the last times it felt like they wrote an entire episode of television. Del Rio was surprisingly funny considering everything else about him and having him accidentally run over Santa Claus like a week after he turns face is ridiculous. Cena no-selling the teddy bear is fantastic. And my favorite part will always be the entire locker room gathered backstage waiting for updates on Santa (who is dying) and Titus just yelling out "My kids, man!"

I mean HHH and Undertaker may have been the only street fight that literary took place on 34th street in Penn Station back in 97.

Orton/Otunga for the pure fun of the match itself.
Cena/Del Rio for the story of the match even happening, itself

Christmas RAW (or Smackdown) should always be a "non-cannon" show full of goofy holiday stuff that is built to send the crowd home happy.

Part of what really sold it was Ricardo beside himself like a small child because he ran over Santa.

It wasn't a match of that type "proper", but I went to a SmackDown/205 Live taping in 2017. Since it was on December 26, they still had the Christmas trees and set.
The dark match was: Kevin Owens, Sami Zayn & Jinder Mahal vs. AJ Styles, Shinsuke Nakamura & Randy Orton. (The latter two were not on SmackDown earlier, so the fans popped huge for both.)
Presents were used as weapons, but my favorite part was when Orton and Zayn fought at the back of the stage. Randy grabbed Zayn and tossed him into the trees, wiping out the entire bunch of them.

My favorite was the Orton/Otega one, which I also think was the first. I don't like Orton much, but he can bring it in a hardcore environment, even a goofy one like this.
The rest were lame, especially that Cena "For Santa" one everyone seemed to like. That was basically the exact opposite of what I want from a wrestling show.

I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the Miracle on 34th Street Fight. It's the old-style kind of raucous, slapstick, hilarious and emotionally-investing kind of match that, at the same time, just puts the light into the faces of whoever's booked to be in it.
Cena and Del Rio is probably the tops for that seasonal-themed booking (who commits attempted vehicular homicide on SANTA?), but Orton corpsing on camera sold me completely on the concept. I had hoped that the Lego spot a couple years ago would have gone to Finn, but alas.
It might be time for the womenfolk to get their shot in on this one. The year's been a bit of a bummer, though, so they may have their work cut out for them to make it stick for the folks at home.

Liv Morgan yells "Jingle bells!", then hits Billie Kay in the head with a Santa sack on Smackdown during their future Miracle on 34th Street Fight.

I just got done watching the Bad Santa vs. Good Santa match. I liked how Damien Sandow entered to Xanta Klaws's theme music. As for the whole setup, I enjoyed the opening with the poetry reading, as well as the Santa bits before the actual match.
Next up, I plan to watch the 2012 Christmas Raw. FOR SANTA!
Hell, I might put on my Ring in the Holiday DVD just because.

not to mention Cena's pep talk earlier in the night... FOR SANTA! this was probably the most entertaining thing del rio did his whole run. the whole "hold the pose after throwing the teddy bear in shock at seeing it have no effect" thing was hilarious. also ricardo just beforehand "maybe it's a bazooka!" as del rio opened up the present
