14 Matches, 5 Women's Matches, and I believe Pretty Peter Avalon's Open Challenge Pageant is also on tap for this week. We'll see if anything else gets added after the fact as well!

Bear Country! Back when we used to be able to go to things, I would go see Orange Cassidy at any indie show within a 4 hour radius of where I live and I was to the point where I was seeing him at least once a month. Bear Country were booked at 90% of the same shows (considering most of them were Beyond Wrestling, that’s not surprising) so I feel very close to them. Ha.
Also, Bear Boulder stepped on my foot at one of the GCW shows in AC this summer while we were both watching a match. I have never seen a man look more terrified and be more apologetic. He truly thought he broke my foot because he is enormous.
So yeah, glad to see them getting some spotlight!

I honestly am excited. It feels like there is a synergy week to week now, as far as who is on, and the kind of matches we are getting, and how many.
Shida versus King should be good, and Dean/Fuego versus Jurrasic is interesting because Dean and Fuego are getting close to their first wins.

Full Card rundown with thoughts:
The Acclaimed vs Louie Valle and Mike Magnum: The Acclaimed get a tune up match, their second time facing Valle, and Magnum's second AEW match after his disasterous outing vs Marko and Saurus with Falco, them dudes got creamed. I don't see a much better showing this week. I just want The Batiri in AEW...
Anna Jay vs Dani Jordyn: This is a good one. Dani's only getting better as a wrestler, and frankly, Anna should be doing a little recruitment here if it were me.
Baron Black vs Brandon Cutler: A seventh win for Brandon in a row as he goes into his Dynamite super match seems likely. The Emp-Bruh has looked impressive and looks like he's putting something together, but I dont see it materializing this year, getting reps is good though.
Brian Cage vs VSK: Cage is now the number one contender for the TNT Title as named by Darby. VSK's had some good matches, but I have a feeling that Cage is gonna destroy him here
Chaos Project vs Best Friends: Probably a win for Best Friends here but this should be a close match. Chaos Project are slowly but surely getting over as they find a groove, and I hope they have a good showing here.
Sothera Chunn vs Ricky Starks: AEW STARKS, with Hobbs at ringside, interestingly enough. Chunn was barely seen in the Hybrid 2 squash, so this should be interesting, he has a good size about him, but Starks has been mowing through people on DARK, that probably isn't changing.
Uno and Grayson vs Bear Country: This one's probably a tryout. Bear Country are a really good tag team and the comments seem most excited about this one. If you've been around Beyond or CZW, you've seen these guys, and they are GOOD. The Tag Team scenes got copious amounts of talent, but they might make a good impression for more.
Shawn Dean and Fuego Del Sol vs Jurassic Express: The normal Express back at it against two DARK Favorites. I just hope for a fun match and maybe just maybe A TORNADO DDT.
Janela and Kiss vs Ryzin and Maluta: Ryzin and Maluta stay together from last weeks Trios match, and will probably run into a buzzsaw. Janela's looking for a tune up here going into the biggest match maybe of his career on Dynamite.
Kaci Lennox vs Ivelisse: This should be good. Ivelisse has been racking up singles wins. I've heard good things about Kaci as well, hoping for a fun match.
Danny Limelight vs Matt Sydal: This is a show stealing match, bar none. Limelight has been absolutely fantastic lately, and Sydal is the swiss army knife that works with everyone. If this is Limelight's tryout match then I think it will be a banger.
Hikaru Shida vs KiLynn King: This should rule. This is the type of match to really show how far King has come, a definite must see.
Leva Bates vs Skyler Moore: This should also be fun. Leva gets a lot of eyes on her every time she wrestles because she's Leva, but she's also on a winning streak. Moore might throw her around a bit though.
Tay Conti vs Freya States: Freya's first match was... a match. A ton of size, but very green, but she has a presence. It's gonna super interesting to see how Conti's style matches up, because this is an interesting pairing for a contest.
I also believe Avalon's Pretty Pageant is happening this week, so we'll see how that plays out.
Should be a fun DARK which leads into another Omega-filled Impact, excited to see what's in store!

He truly thought he broke my foot because he is enormous. My foot was fine, thankfully. So yeah, glad to see them getting some spotlight! These guys are probably getting a straight up tryout even if Dark Order win, they are a downright impressive team There's a Beyond clip of Boulder holding up Butcher and Blade at once in a match, that's simply incredible.

Bear Country was legit about to explode before the pandemic hit. Great tag team and if I'm AEW I scoop them up quick as hell.

Anna Jay vs. Dani Jordyn: Nightmare Factory top students final exam! I hope these two really go. I don't think Anna is going to be the first person Dani defeats, but I would like to see them go back and forth instead of a complete destruction of Dani.
Chaos Project vs. Best Friends: Oh that sounds just plain fun. Feels like Best Friends have been carrying Dark a little despite now being established as one of the top teams, but then, so have Jurassic Express.
Sotheara Chhun vs. Ricky Starks: Looking forward to this, I always really enjoy when Starks wrestles the latest guy to show up from the indies.
Dark Order vs. Bear Country: Hey, I've heard of Bear Country a time or two! Looking forward to seeing them. Starks seems like the guy who takes on the newbies in singles, while Dark Order takes them on in tag.
Kaci Lennox vs. Ivelisse: Doesn't seem to be much on Lennox on the internets - I could only find like three matches on Youtube and watched one with KiLynn King. (King was seriously such a natural.) Lennox looks about as good as Dreamgirl Ellie, Tesha Price, and Alex Gracia, and I expect her to be back after this.
Hikaru Shida vs. KiLynn King: Speaking of final exams, here's KiLynn getting her match against the measuring stick. At this point, KiLynn has magicked a good match out of Mel, and Shida tends to deliver big time on Dark. KiLynn's also been getting good enough performances that she won't be getting squashed. This maybe doesn't go very long, but it should be pretty even, and hopefully it gets kind of epic.
Skyler Moore vs. Leva Bates: Much like Bates vs. Gracia from two (?) weeks ago (which turned out quite well), I'm unsure how this is going to go. Moore is really solid but also really bland, and I would enjoy if Leva's gimmick gives her a chance to show some kind of personality.
Tay Conti vs. Freya the Slaya: OH HELL YES. I have thoroughly enjoyed Conti any time she's been in the ring, and Freya just seems like a very fun opponent for her. I'm guessing that Conti just kind of wraps herself around Freya's arms to wear her down until she can get a submission. Freya's selling is good enough that that should be great.

In an oops moment this was tweeted out by Jessika Carr first before she deleted it fairly quickly I'm noticing a lot of DVon Dudley trainees, and his own sons for that matter, are getting some AEW looks now. They're seemingly setting up some interesting pipelines for enhancement and scouting purposes between that and how many talents we have seen from New York.

And say what you will about Ivelisse but it's nice to see her get more singles matches lately. She's someome who, if she stays in line, could be a great asset to the divison. Her and Shida in a match with time is something I'd like to see eventually.

I legit mark out for her, and Red Velvet, when they're on the show. Which seems like almost every week.

I've watched like seven Bear Country matches since they were announced. I think this is the most hype I've been for a new AEW DARK showcase in a bit. I have a feeling these guys are gonna have people screaming to sign them if they get an even match with Dark Order, and I see that happening.

Certainly makes sense with Leva Bates (a Dudley student) on the talent relations team. Probably means that they have a strong in with D-Von in a way they don't with, say, Booker T.

They seem to have their pulse on a few wrestling schools which has helped them get some of this talent next to the other Indie talent getting a chance to earn a contract. It's cool to see DARK become this feeder system for said talent, I'll be curious if Tony does split it into two where we get some more legit DARK matches on a second night and keep Tuesdays to the showcase show.
