The amount of big articles AEW has been getting on their wrestlers is really saying a lot about the attention they're grabbing.

It also helps that up here AEW airs on TSN, which is in significantly more households than The Score, who air WWE.

Of course there are certain major markets where they'll probably never even become competitive with WWE, but at this stage they're well placed to take the likes of Canada and the UK, both major wrestling markets, from WWE

And WWE have nobody to blame for losing the TSN deal but themselves. They aired that DX skit where it's all but stated that Triple H is getting a blowjob without even bothering to tell TSN about it. TSN kicked them off almost immediately.

This is the same company that aired an angle where Brian Pillman was going to shoot Steve Austin which they were lucky to not have gotten axed for but it literally wasn’t mentioned on TV again after that.

I'll be honest I think TSN had wanted to get rid of them for quite some time. Ratings had been catering for quite some time so they weren't pulling the kinds of viewers they used to. TSN already treated wrestling with a lot of derision on Sports Center so WWE basically just gave them the excuse they were looking for.

AEW getting positive mainstream attention in Canada is something I've really been hoping for.
The biggest issue with the Canadian indy scene is that you basically HAVE to go to the US to be any sort of name, and it's getting harder and harder to do that. There are SO many good Canadian talents who don't get the spotlight they deserve, and with one of the EVPs and one of the top stars being Canadian, I hope it leads to some of those people getting featured in a post-COVID world.
Mike Bailey, Daniel Makabe, Tabarnak de Team, LuFisto, Alexia Nicole, Addy Starr, all of them and more would be great additions.

I recall listening to another Evil Uno interview talking about the border crossings he was doing, and how it could have impacted his previous job in the federal government. Crazy how much of a grey area it was for many of the Canadian workers coming in to work down in the US.

Whenever they can finally run shows in Canada, the atmosphere is going to be incredible.

I know he talked about it on Art of Wrestling once, which also had some hilarious stories, like Stu almost diving onto a man in a wheelchair because he couldn't see properly, and some decidedly scarier ones, like a "promoter" trying to take advantage of him when he was like 14.

He shared that story openly during the Speaking Out movement to show that it wasn't just women that were taken advantage of, and none of it was ok I think he said the trainer made him wrestle in underwear and nothing else and it was mortifying. I'm so glad he is in the spot he is now with good friends and a good position, because thinking about that is awful as he seems like such a genuinely good dude.
