Is this the first tribute show from a major wrestling program since 2007? Yes and unlike last time I think that this is one that we'll be able to look back on fondly for years to come. It will be a fun show that will honor the man and give us a fond final memory of the man beyond how bummed we are that he's gone.

Ya know, I really hope they decide to throw this show up on YouTube.
I'm unfortunately without cable and won't be at my dad's like I usually am on Wednesdays.

They probably could've put the Bray/Alexa/Randy stuff on ice for the week, it just felt wrong watching it and I usually love the Firefly Funhouse stuff

The Dark Order is going over like Hogan in 87, brother. Seriously, though, what a great card, and a great thing of TK to do to let Brodie jr. do that.

One more thought.
If I were Excalibur, everytime someone hits one of Brodie's signature moves on Wednesday, I would call it like: "LARRY! HE JUST HIT HIM WITH THE DISCUS LARIAT! HE IS OUT, LARTY!"

Start of Raw had a graphic, two, "It's Monday, you know what that means," bits, and a, "Yeah yeah yeah." Lack of the bell is a bit disappointing but still nice to see some love being paid. If someone could explain that to some yahoos on Twitter, that would be nice

I've held off saying anything because words failed me. It's been forty-eight hours, and the words still haven't come.

Hawkins doesn't help either but he's likely grieving so will give him the benefit of the doubt. A ten bell salute would have been nice BUT have WWE ever done a ten bell salute for a someone who was either not an active roster member or a huge legend? It's not some horrible slight or sign of disrespect that they didn't do it.

But the salute the tributes and ALL of that are gonna be handled on Wednesday, WWE did their part, there were references abound, they honored him plenty for me to be satisfied with the job done by everyone.

Brodie now has the top four spots on the highest sellers this week on PWTees, as well as numbers 6, 7, 8, and 10, and there's some general Dark Order stuff just beneath that. Also a lot of Punk stuff pretty high up so yeah, it's a small comfort but at least his family's probably got a lot of money coming their way to help with things. On Christmas Day, my friend got me a Join The Dark Order shirt and honestly, it was a great gift because of how awesome the Dark Order has become, and the day after.....this new shirt I got, got a whole new meaning. I wore it yesterday and I'm still sad this happened.

Honestly? Credit that they were allowed to call him "Brodie" without the audio getting cut. It sucks that the bar is so low that we have to acknowledge that, but it's something.

That would actually be the perfect (secondary?) finisher for Silver. He has the muscles for it to work. 10 could adopt the big boot.

I thought there would be a video package, but the WWE left it up to the talent to pay tribute. And it was a good decision. You had Drew and Tom at the top of the show, Alexa in her first segment said "Yeah yeah yeah", Woods did his discus lariat with Tom pointing it out on commentary, Dijakovic mimicking him in his entrance, and Alexa calling Orton a "little bitch" which is something Brodie's said on BTE. If Vince wanted the tributes to stop, he would have stopped them. The WWE let the talent do the tributes, while AEW does a full tribute show.

Yeah I think WWE’s tribute image and then scattered homages through the talent was absolutely fine.
The discourse should not be some kind of death dick measure and I hate that it’s become that for people like Hawkins and Vince Russo.

I thought there was a video package they made on their YouTube page. Maybe they should have aired it, but it makes me wonder, has any company ever done a video package aired for a talent that was under contract with another company? I wasn’t a watcher at the time, but I know Owen Hart got a ten bell salute and the tribute match, I just don’t know if there was anything beyond that. This thread probably contains the most posts I have ever made in the section, so I wanted to say as someone on the outside looking in as a non AEW watcher, from clips and .gifs that crossed my Twitter Timeline, he and Chris Jericho are the only two that went from WWE to AEW that don’t come across to me as a bootleg version of his WWE character, and it made me actually interested in seeing the clips and .gifs of him that crossed my timeline.

I think people comparing it to Owen - it was a very different situation, and not really comparable. For Eddie say, in November 2005 - I'm not sure TNA even did a graphic (though you could argue why would they, he'd never worked for them)* and that's a more comparable situation to this one.
I think WWE did the fight thing. They paid tribute, let the talent do it, and left the company he worked for to do the actual tribute show and ten bell.
Had they not, we'd probably see the same Twitter people slagging them off for not doing it, slagging them off for doing it and 'stealing' AEW's place because they were on earlier in the week.
He was an AEW talent, it's right they be the ones to fully celebrate him.
*I have since been told they did, so stand corrected on that one
