They probably could've put the Bray/Alexa/Randy stuff on ice for the week, it just felt wrong watching it and I usually love the Firefly Funhouse stuff I get that, though it's so over the top that it doesn't register as relatable. Like, if they had someone stretchered out after a heart punch or some other torso thing, I'd be MUCH more upset, but this is too cartoony for me to really connect it.

Thought just struck me, but the tribute show is likely to get over a million viewers.
Not the way they likely wanted to hit that milestone, but at the same time, what a great way to celebrate his life with the most eyes ever for the show.

It's certainly possible it would, and at the least, likely do great in DVR numbers. I know it's going to be a priority for me to catch.

Read through the entire thread and a similar thread on a different forum. This death has hit me harder than any in recent memory, probably the most since Eddie and Owen. The reason for that has to be the tremendous outpouring of love and stories from everyone about how truly great a man he was. He seems to be someone to aspire to be as a friend, a husband and a father.
I saw that PWTees/AEW Shop sales of his shirts have proceeds going to his family. I’m not in need of a shirt but would love to throw some support their way. If anyone is in need/want of a Brodie shirt, please PM me and I’d be happy to send it along your way.

Does anyone know if the JOIN THE DARK ORDER Shirt counts for the Brodie Family Charity?

I think people comparing it to Owen - it was a very different situation, and not really comparable. For Eddie say, in November 2005 - I'm not sure TNA even did a graphic (though you could argue why would they, he'd never worked for them) and that's a more comparable situation to this one. I think WWE did the fight thing. They paid tribute, let the talent do it, and left the company he worked for to do the actual tribute show and ten bell. Had they not, we'd probably see the same Twitter people slagging them off for not doing it, slagging them off for doing it and 'stealing' AEW's place because they were on earlier in the week. He was an AEW talent, it's right they be the ones to fully celebrate him. Personally I thought he should've got the 10 Bell. But we can't have any extra eyes on AEW, right?

If that was even part of WWE's thinking, they would have given him the ten bell, the people on stage and a video package - then had talking head grief segments. Steal the grief, especially seen as most mainstream reports referenced his WWE status and left AEW as a footnote. They didnt do that, and I consider that the classier move. It's not often you can give WWE the nod for being classy about something.

The bad faith "these same people would complain about the opposite because nobody actually cares about the issue, they just want to leverage the tragedy to shittalk WWE" angle is f***ing slimy.

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ten-bell_saluteNot sure how complete the list is, but as far as I can tell, the only people who got a salute in WWE even though they were wrestling regularly for another company are David Von Erich and Andre (if he counted as being on the AJPW roster). Rude and Davey Boy were not signed with anyone at the time of their deaths.

I know it was going on for a bit but let’s please steer away from the whole talk about who did memorials right or whatever. It feels wrong to even address it right now to be completely frank.
And both sides are doing it so that’s why I’m asking everyone to stop.

One of the good things about Brodie going to AEW is that AEW will have a tribute show so all of his friends there will get the chance to tell stories about him but I would also imagine that there WWE will put together a tribute special for him on the Network with his WWE highlights and let his friends under contract there share their memories of him as well.
It’s sad, but I’m glad that everyone is humbled to have known him. Even Enzo had a great story about how Harper bumped for him in Enzo and Cass’ first match on the main roster. He didn’t have to do that or he could have bumped for Cass, but he sold his ass off for Enzo for no other reason than it was the right thing to do.

Yea, I was about to say stop being f***ing childish Really, arguing and being snippy over how the man is honored and trying to throw shots because they didn't meet your standards. Grow the f*** up. Sorry, just wanted to get that off my chest

TNA not only aired a graphic, they dedicated a PPV (Genesis '05, which aired the same day) to him. It was how I found out he died.

I didn't know anything about brodie. I missed his ROH career but I knew of him. When he was with the wyatt family, I enjoyed his work but didn't really know how talented he was. After seeing him on AEW and BTE, he won me over and I can't understand why WWE never let him speak. Seeing all of the outpouring of memories from so many people in every company and seeing what kind of family man he was, I don't know, but this death hits me hard.
