For Eddie say, in November 2005 - I'm not sure TNA even did a graphic (though you could argue why would they, he'd never worked for them) and that's a more comparable situation to this one. TNA not only aired a graphic, they dedicated a PPV (Genesis '05, which aired the same day) to him. It was how I found out he died. Oh, I checked an online Youtube of the show from 19/11 and didnt see one, stand corrected! Thanks for the info.

You know, you get told you're abusing your power for suspending someone that told people to f*** off in a RIP thread.
And the dude doesn't even pm you but reports it.

For the record, and I know I’m not a full time mod anymore but you did the right thing. We’re all emotional at the moment so that’s why I said what I said in the first place because these things can go that way. And we’re not making this an AEW/WWE thing, not today and not ever. So just...don’t be dicks, ok?

I think people comparing it to Owen - it was a very different situation, and not really comparable. For Eddie say, in November 2005 - I'm not sure TNA even did a graphic (though you could argue why would they, he'd never worked for them) and that's a more comparable situation to this one. I think WWE did the fight thing. They paid tribute, let the talent do it, and left the company he worked for to do the actual tribute show and ten bell. Had they not, we'd probably see the same Twitter people slagging them off for not doing it, slagging them off for doing it and 'stealing' AEW's place because they were on earlier in the week. He was an AEW talent, it's right they be the ones to fully celebrate him. Personally I thought he should've got the 10 Bell. But we can't have any extra eyes on AEW, right? Speaking of which, Brian Myers was bemoaning just that. Some of his friends went as far as calling WWE scum and ingenuine for only doing a graphic. Let he who is without sin etc. etc. Well realistically, he was a midcarder (not all on him, of course) and wasn't working for WWE at the time. So of course HOFers and current employees who passed while being such will get more. I don't agree about tiered tributes, but it is what it is. And there were subtle nods from others on Raw too. Duh, AEW is going to do their own tribute show, he was working there at the time of his passing. Doesn't take a genius to figure that out, like with Owen, Eddie, and that other guy from 2007. (and given the scrutiny some put the WWE under for running those shows, they can't win, can they? Well, the Benoit one we were justified in criticizing, but that was when we learned the whole story)

Looks like WWE has some sort of lengthier tribute in the works: Fightful reports that in addition to Superstars filming tributes to Brodie Lee (aka Jonathan Huber) yesterday, a video package was also prepared in tribute to the late former WWE Superstar.

Wasn't he last on WWE TV as a Smackdown star? That might make sense, do the graphic Monday, AEW do their thing Wednesday, then do something on Friday once AEW's is done. Or they could just release something online. Either way, he's getting a lot of recognition, which really goes to show how liked he was. I wonder if Impact will do anything tonight?

I imagine Smackdown on Friday will see this longer Brodie tribute air.

I know neither company would likely go for it, but I'd love to see a sort of neutral-ground charity show between Brodie's close friends on both the WWE and AEW rosters. Raise money for the Huber family as well as causes that were near and dear to Brodie's heart.

I think that the Pillman Memorial had guys from WWF, WCW, and ECW, só it could happen, but yeah, I wouldn’t wager on it occurring.

My only comment regarding the tributes and such: tribute shows in wrestling are such a double edged sword, because no matter what company does what for whom, there will be criticism. WWE just does a graphic, they're not doing enough. They do a tribute show, they're exploiting the person's memory for a rating. Nobody can win, because there's always going to be someone with their own opinion on what they should have done, which will inevitably clash with what others think.
This is a highly emotional situation for everyone. Nobody is right or wrong for what they think, but sniping at or arguing with one another isn't going to solve anything. We should all be coming together to remember a man who touched many lives, not fight about how people who knew him far better than any of us, choose to honor him.

From what I heard about with Raw, I think WWE handled things well. They did a graphic and let their talent who knew the guy do the tributes to him in their own way. And if they have a video package they're working on, all the better.

Respect for polarbearpete . It actually got me thinking,I cant really order anything for myself because of international shipping and a lot of many other issues. But I wanted to try and organize something nice, maybe some sort of thing where someone from the forum gets a Brodie Lee shirt of their choice but I don't have any idea of what and how. Just something nice to celebrate his life and pay tribute to his career.

Has anyone heard from Chuckie yet? He seems to be (understandably) silent at the moment, but was just wondering if I missed something.
