Taker started using a gogoplata during his feud with Edge. First dubbed “the Devil’s Triangle” before being rebranded as “Hells Gate”

It was became similar to The Last Ride; a desperation move Taker would use when nothing else was working, but certainly wasn't used as regularly as it was during the 08 run.

Switching from the heart punch to the tombstone was a good move for Taker.
Switching from the million dollar dream to the stunner was good for Austin.
Triple H used some kind of leg submission thing before the pedigree.

Non WWE example but before Homicide locked the cop/gringo killa as a finisher he was beating dudes with sick looking lariat.
You could do a ton of these for ROH honestly. In a sort of weird reversal of this thread go back and see how often Austin Aries did the last chancery as a regular move before it became a big finisher during his 2007 return

Oh! How about Lita doing that DDT? With the big leg swing?
Beth Phoenix used her fisherman's buster as a finish for a while. She kept it as a near fall when she switched to the glam slam.
Anyone remember Matt Hardys dumb Ice Pick submission? That double undertook thing?

Speaking of moves called Ice Pick, when Glacier first turned heel he started using a thumb-to-the-throat nerve hold called the Ice Pick before going back to the Cryonic Kick.

When Monty Brown first showed up in ECW as Marcus Cor Von they used the Pounce as a set up move with his finisher being a Russian Leg Sweep into a rolling Arm Bar

That's when he switched to the spinning backfist.

Just randomly remembered, didn't Mr. Kennedy's finisher change a whole bunch during his main roster WWE tenure?

Remember when Solomon Crowe debuted and his finisher was the stupidest slingshot splash thing? He then switched to the Stretch Muffler before he asked for his release.

Everyone remembers when Orton used the Overdrive, but didn't he do a diving crossbody before that?

Anyone remember Matt Hardys dumb Ice Pick submission? That double undertook thing? Lita kept that as a set up move and was kind a secondary finisher when she went heel. The other move she did that didn't last as long was the powerbomb.

Bob Holly had the falcon arrow tastelessly dubbed by Russo as "The Holly-caust" briefly in May '99. Ok I need to know if this is urban fiction because I've read this for a long while but can't find any instance of it actually happening.
