I know the in ring and storytelling is good. But GCW’s production really makes the product hard to watch. From Joeys awful announcing, ring cameras that look like it was shot on a phone, to technical issues like this. We’re living in the future. The biggest indies shouldn’t have production that makes ECW Hardcore TV look amazing by comparison. That and Kevin Gill's Horrid commentary are why I so far haven't paid for a GCW show since SPring Break 2. I really don't get the Kevin Gill hate. While he's not exactly prime JR, I've heard a million times worse on the Indies (I'm looking at you Julius Smokes) and he seems like a pretty cool guy who just loves wrestling. Put it this way, over the past few months I have listened to literally days worth of KG commentary with ease but after a few hours of WWE's commentators and presenters last night I was ready to strangle somebody. I also think they upped their game massively with production this weekend too, the camera work was massively improved and with the addition of live replays and some proper monitors for the commentators it took them up a level for sure. Admittedly there's still some way to go with their sound, but they're definitely trying to improve too.

i could be wrong and it could just be a recent thing as I don’t follow GCW too closely but it seems like between Gage and RSP world champions hold onto the titles for a very, very long time it’s like give someone else the belt already cause I’m sure Gage is gonna hold the belt for a long time again I definitely think the RSP thing was always gonna end up with dropping it back to Gage, and they just had no idea how long it would take to get that in front of a crowd. And I guess putting it in the middle of Fight Forever was a no go because thst was always gonna be a slog to actually watch. GCW definitely does long haul title runs pretty heavily, as the shortest run since JCW became GCW was Tremont in 250 days. Even KTB got a year run to start the Gamechanger era. Well, except for AJ Gray and his blink and you miss it run.

Could GCW ever get a national TV deal?
Right now it seems like the national TV has way more deals with companies then they have in the past. GCW seems to be breaking out as THE indie among companies that haven’t quite reached that MLW/modern NWA level.

But I'm not sure that's their aim anyway tbh, I think they've purposely positioned themselves as being different from the mainstream promotions. Sort of like the bands that sell out tours and merch without a major label backing them if that makes sense? I don't think a sanitised version of GCW works if I'm honest. The fact that they are a little rough around the edges and occasionally slapdash is half of their appeal. It's what makes them 'cool' for want of a better word.

I’m wondering if they could land on some niche channel that would interfere minimally. Perhaps they could have a slightly sanitized TV product then still do what they do on DVD/streaming/YouTube. Kind of like a throwback to that Too Hot for TV stuff back in the 1990s. Like ECW with that tape promoting the night Kimona Wanalaya danced on top of the ECW Arena. Although unless such a niche channel pops up I’d be hard pressed to think of any that GCW would fit on that isn’t already involved with a wrestling company. Fuse or Vice would probably be the best. Maybe RFD-TV or it’s related channels at a push. I couldn’t imagine GCW fitting on any of the Byron Allen channels. Unless they cross promote and do, “Funny You Should Ask...How Much Barbed Wire Can I Wrap Around Your Head?”

It's like going to a metal festival that's in some low key venue that only a handful of people have heard of. It feels like the old CZW 2005 that featured the best US death match guys plus young upcoming talent. I just wish they would focus a bit more on production and less stupid commentary.

So, the Glass Ceiling was as every bit as brutal as you could imagine, and we are finally addressing AJ Gray's claim to the GCW title.
Just in time for GCW to run my city on my birthday weekend no less.

I was still in a wrestling mood after the impact ppv, so I ordered Draft Day.
It was a really good show. A little mix of everything. Probably the best Allie Kat(ch) match I’ve ever seen. Also love seeing the 2nd Gear Crew wrecking fools. I’m an immediate fan of Jack Cartwheel.
Commentary was an improvement when it was mixed right and didn’t sound like it was a one way phone call. The ringside camera guy felt like a bad shaky cam horror movie at times. The Dunn cuts don’t bother me, this bothered me.

Just finished watching this one (didn't start until 4AM here) and I honestly think it was one of the strongest in-ring products they've put out, every match was good and there were some genuine bangers chucked in for good measure too.
BUT... I'm usually pretty forgiving of the production faux pas they sometimes suffer, but this was one of their worst ones yet, which is a shame considering it felt like they'd turned a corner on that front recently.

Haven't watched since Spring Break since I was super disappointed in the production given that it's their biggest show of the year.
Have they figured out how to mic the crowd so the loudest sound isn't the drunk guy at the bar going "LEESSHH GO LEEEOOOO"
