I think it's fine, and the crowds often go for it, so I don't care about it being reused. It beats "take a nap outside the ring since you went through the middle ropes, free pass to the final 2." That needs a couple of years rest.
I also hate "skin the cat, but take 2 minutes doing it while people just stare at you." If you can't do it quick enough, don't do it.

When was it Kofi got launched over the ring post but landed with his toes still on the bottom ring step? That one was super cool. That’s the last super cool one I remember. That was the Andre Battle Royal at WrestleMania XXX (2014)

He should take this year off from doing one as well, not a lot of point as there's almost certainly going to be no crowd, then in the 2022 rumble he can redo the handstand and that will get a huge pop as the first one in two years. A break is for the best as there are only so many ways to do it originally.

I have a certain appreciation for the barricade spot because I sat front row when Naomi did it in 2019, and the cameras don't do it justice. Those barricades wobble at the slightest movement, so Naomi balancing herself on the padding is way more impressive than it looks. At one point when she's balancing herself on the barricade, I reflexively went to rest my arm on the padding, and that low-key almost f***ed up on the spot.
While they get old every year, the time to really write off that spot would have been last year when Morrison went against Brock. Instead of dumping Morrison in a few seconds like utter trash, Brock should have tried to toss Morrison, Morrison does the barricade spot, and then Brock eliminates Morrison as he jumps back onto the apron.

I don't think he had a 2020 one?

It's another example of WWE not knowing what to use something like this for.
It got bigger and bigger reactions as Kofi got better at it, Kacy did a version of it that frankly made most of Kofi's look like a joke even without considering the 'pancake is not floor?'/'would you like to have sex with Kofi and Xavier after they've walked through a teleporter at the same time?' level ones. But it still has heat, os use it to get somebody over.
Once they had run out of ideas, the way to use this is to get over some new dickbag smart heel who throws Kofi so clear of the ring that nobody will catch him and he cannot be saved by anything. It could be a sick, but safe bump if they somehow got him thrown right through a table or something. Then you never bother with those spots again because this guy killed it and Kofi has someone to feud with.

That one where Kofi was supposed to land on Xavier in a Yoshi tonic position and they completely f***ed it up but acted like it was fine was awful. Oh man that was the worst

No....especially when it started to become a recognized thing by the announcers at every rumble.
Which is why I’m glad Brock easily tossed him at the last Rumble.

I'm pretty sure the person doing the spot usually gets tossed out in the next 30 seconds. It would be nice if the spot led to someone winning the damn thing.

I’m not a big fan anymore. And it’s emblematic of how the Royal Rumble seems to have devolved into a checklist of spots that have to be done every year. The modern Rumbles just feel so overly scripted. It’s lost a lot of the charm they used to have.

Mandy ruining Naomi's save spot a couple years ago was hilarious.

It was a fun idea that in SNLesque fashion, that ran into the ground so far that it's seeping into the Earth's core.

Was cool when Morrison and Kofi were doing a few cool things but in the great tradition of the WWE they rode it until the tires fell off and then kept riding the rims until they started a fire.

I think the reason they haven't had that happen is that, if the person screws it up, they'd be out. I guess that's part of why they rely so heavily on the middle rope bullshit they've done for the last few years with Rumbles and Battle Royals.

I really enjoyed the year Big E caught him on his shoulders and ran around the ring. Kofi got a drink and popcorn from a fan. Big E and his reaction really made it. Of course they missed his actual elimination on camera.
