For me, it was really cool when it started, but now it's over played and silly. The spot now happens 2-3 times in each Rumble. Naomi using a chair and Kofi laying on his back with his feet in the air is what killed it for me.
Like what now counts as touching the floor? Why not just put a blanket around ring side or tie cloth to your shoes? Is wearing shoes really that different than standing on a chair?
I am curious to hear other people's opinions. My opinion is certainly not gospel

Wearing shoes and standing on a chair are definitely different things very far removed from each other as far as 'being on the floor' goes.

They're fine, but also when overdone they've been getting less interesting. Was him stepping on the pancakes on the floor the last one? Because that was terrible.

The more it went on the less fun they got and reached a point where people were just waiting on him to do his spot and then get eliminated and also because the more convoluted the spot the dumber the wrestler looked...Naomi was the one who bugged me the most because instead of just jumping to the stairs from the table she goes and grabs a chair and does this whole spot just to get to the stairs...that she could have ya know jumped to and already been back in the ring.
Kacy Katanzaro I thought had the best and most imppressive save spot in recent memory anyways.

When it was just Kofi, and I think John Morrison before him, it was okay. Now it's a staple of every men's and women's rumble and is as overdone as the "go under the bottom rope so you're not eliminated" spots.

Yeah, Kacy's was great from 2019. Mandy Rose being saved by Otis from 2020 was very memorable and fun. I think if they already didn't have that save spot for Mandy, Naomi's from that year's wouldn't have been so boring. It took forever for to get back in the ring.

It's played out. And, after Kacy Catanzaro, it's hard to think of a new way to do it. So, it's time to retire it.

I think the biggest issue is that these spots are never, ever, ever done by the victor or otherwise relevant to the story of the match.
Like, who cares if Kofi always does the coolest spot in the Rumble, if it doesn't help him win or even get to the final four? It's been a while since I've seen any of the Rumbles, but my memory/impression is that whoever does a cool spot is going to be eliminated in the next three minutes.
WWE is really bad about connecting "good at this type of match" to "winning this type of match."

If they wanted a winner to do it, they would need to plan for 2 different outcomes in case he/she screws it up

I don't know if itw as the last one but that was awful... and stretched the suspension of disbelief. you want to say another person doesn't count ok... a table, a chair, something more permanent yeah... but purposefully throwing things on the ground just to get the spot was just too much for me. That's my "I'm wearing shoes so I technically didn't touch the floor with my feet" levels for me.

Was fun the first two times it was done, after that it was far less spectacular and predictable.

Honestly hate them.
Kacys was great and Mandys was fun but besides that... The only one I liked was Morrisons original barricade jump (cause it was fresh at the time) and Kofis handstand (cause it must be bloody hard to do)
The rest of them were forced and utterly pointless as they always get eliminated almost immediately after.

When was it Kofi got launched over the ring post but landed with his toes still on the bottom ring step? That one was super cool. That’s the last super cool one I remember.

The first couple of times was cool. When they started to promote “what is Kofi going to do this year, I started to lose interest.

As long as they're creative and work yeah. The problem is that it's gotten so difficult to create these spots. Kofi of all people didn't even have one last year, he went on to face Lesnar and got thrown out so yeah.

They'd work a lot better if WWE didn't try to cram a few of them into every year. It's the overexposure that f***s it up, because they don't book these matches with care, they book them with excess and every trick that they can cram in, every time. They could definitely do better with connecting dots and making it have an impact instead of being Something For Someone To Do, too. But the spots inherently on their own? They're fine.

I am mainly annoyed with how far they've stretched the whole "two feet must hit the floor" rule. Like it makes sense when Shawn is hanging by a thread and only one foot hits. But when I see someone just laying with their whole body on the floor five feet from the ring but they're holding their feet up like a baby, that just looks absurd. Like no, you're definitely out of the ring.
