There is no mid or post credit scenes. Adam Wingard did reveal that {Spoiler}{Spoiler}{Spoiler}{SPOILER: CLICK TO SHOW}The scene shown in the Hollow Earth at the end was originally a post credit scene, but was changed to a pre credit scene.
There was a rumour that a post credit scene teasing an alien invasion plot for a future film was filmed but scrapped. But I think that turned out to be a false rumour. Also in relation to my earlier tweet about them using other Toho Kaiju. Just saw this on Twitter {Spoiler}{Spoiler}{SPOILER: CLICK TO SHOW}

I mean {Spoiler}Even without an overt sequel tease, there’s still possibilities for future films, especially with other monsters popping up to challenge Goji and/or Kong’s dominance.

From what I read Legendarys contract with Toho was up in 2020 and it wasn’t renewed.
They said there may be more movies if the demand is there.
So don’t expect more movies

{Spoiler}{Spoiler}{Spoiler}{Spoiler}{Spoiler}{Spoiler}{SPOILER: CLICK TO SHOW}They really nerfed Godzilla in this one to make it look like Kong had a shot. Not complaining, it's just a movie about a big lizard fighting a big gorilla. I just thought it was funny that in the last movie Godzilla incinerates Ghidorah with just his aura but he had trouble keeping down a gorilla with an axe lol. I enjoyed the movie overall, but Godzilla seemed like kind of an afterthought and they were more focused on Kong's journey. One thing I've really enjoyed about these movies is how they really hammer home how the monsters are just forces of nature, not giant super heroes. They just wanna kill each other, they're not acting out of some sort of heroic duty to humanity. {Spoiler}{Spoiler}{Spoiler}{Spoiler}{SPOILER: CLICK TO SHOW}I thought Godzilla actually had too many unfair advantages. He seems to charge his beem faster than usual. And Kong's ability to climb didn't help him much when there were buildings around. {Spoiler}{Spoiler} He’s a walking nuclear reactor that shoots lasers from his mouth, has skin that’s almost impenetrable even by nuclear explosions, can breath underwater and is as agile as he is strong
Kong is a big monkey
Kong never should stand a chance.

{Spoiler}I kinda found King Kong's human friends more likeable than the ones tied with Godzilla.

Just finished watching this and like every Monsterverse movie other than Skull Island, there’s about 20 minutes of great movie at the end that was preceded by an hour and a half of boring horseshit.

Pretty fun monster movie I enjoyed it My thoughts: {Spoiler}{SPOILER: CLICK TO SHOW} They didn't go to hard in the melo dramatic human stuff (besides the little girl) and was pretty straight forward
Millie Bobby Brown character didn't really seem like she needed to be in the movie, her subplot could been rewritten
That car should been roasted by Godzilla breath, it was too close not to be
They did Serizawa son bad lmao
So everyone in Hong Kong should be dead right?
Kong beat a Godzilla so he technically won but he did drop his weapon against the real one so it is a tie

THIS is what King of the monsters should have been.
Dumb ass plot
Minimal human focus
Monster throw downs being the focus...like actual fights and not just hugging seriously the 2nd fight is the best monster verse fight in any of the movies just amazing.
And just making a damn fun movie.
This IMO is the best Kong ever put to screen they put this furry f***ery through so much and you really felt for him.

Man, I just want someone to announce a new Godzilla movie.
Toho, Legendary, I don't care.
Let the big guy stomp.

Is this good in general or just good for the pandemic? I honestly can't remember how much blockbusters usually make opening weekend.

I don’t remember a movie that grossed over $15m over a weekend during all this time. It’s also pretty good considering people’s concerns over it being on streaming in just under a month.

There was a very limited theater release, too, which are becoming more the norm as vaccinations roll out. But as far as the pandemic goes, it's excellent. IIRC the previous holder of that was Wonder Woman 1984 and its first week it did about $17 million. This shatters that.

It's good for a monster movie in general as well. Typically in America at least they do okayish box office at best.

I wonder how drive-in earnings did, seeing as this is the perfect movie for drive-in theatres.

If Toho decide to take their Godzilla and go home.
They could continue the Monsterverse without him.. just focus it more on Kong. Maybe get some other non Toho famous movie monsters like Gamera, Pacific Rim, Cloverfield, Gorgo.
