So the big international news is that Japan should be opening up to (non-tourist) foreigners on March 1; fingers crossed that we're done with major COVID variants, because this could finally open the door to something like, say, Bryan Danielson getting to work the G1. Man, Minor Suzuki was great, but wait until they get Adult Suzuki. Or Major Suzuki! Now I'm imagining Suzuki with a military gimmick. Tenzan gets the young lions all set to train in the NJPW dojo and tells them "Today's training will be very stringent! In fact, it will be an outright boot camp! Please welcome today's guest trainer, Major Suzuki!" Minoru Suzuki just walks in dressed like Sgt. Slaughter but otherwise does literally nothing different from what he usually does to young lions. So, Suzuki and Fale fusion?

I don't think Tanahashi is happy.

New Japan Talent finally being able to move back and forth freely is something that has been majorly needed, for New Japan itself frankly, but for the Forbidden Door storylines to also exceedingly kick off, because there's so much possibility to be had, and Jay White alone proved it in one match. There's also potential for DDT partnerships like Konosuke Takeshita to have an extended run, and Joshi to return and potentially be a bit more of a prominent fixture in the shows like Yuka, Maki, Ryo, Lulu and Mei. Cause I have to imagine one of the main reasons it's been so hard to focus and book the Joshi consistently has been the travel.

Bryan Danielson in the G-1 Climax. Why am I drooling? Yeah, I was just thinking “I wonder if TK would let Danielson go do G1?” Given what Danielson was telling WWE he wanted in his next contract, and given that Mox got to do it, I have to believe there’s a pretty good chance that if we’re largely in the clear on variants by late spring then Gedo’s gonna start penciling in which bracket Dragon fits with and whether he can hold off on matching him with Okada for a little while or not. Gotta hold off on a Sabre match, though, that’s big enough to technical fans on its own that it’d sell tickets to an otherwise smaller event.

Mox did it when AEW wasn’t running shows tho, TK would have to sign off on Danielson missing a month of TV which could be a hold up. I do agree they should save ZSJ/DBD tho, that’s a huge match.

I’d be fairly confident that Danielson has a lot of leeway in his contract for outside bookings. It was a main negotiating point as he even had gotten WWE to agree to let him work some outside dates.

If I were AEW, I'd definitely allow Danielson to take off for a month to do the G1, as long as NJPW sends someone like Okada or Ibushi the other way (not during the G1 though, obviously. Maybe a month or two earlier/later.) Let's get some high-profile talent exchanges going when international travel allows it.

Said this is in the Impact thread, but after the Bullet Club surprise shake up last night, in which Jay White kicked GoD out and brought Anderson and Gallows back into the fold, I feel like we’re potentially heading into a multi-promotional, multi-continent spanning Bullet Club civil war, albeit four years after we thought we’d actually have it. As of now, we’ve got these alignments: Bullet Club USA: White, Guns n’ Gallows, Chris Bey Elite Era: Cole, reDragon, Kenny, and the Bucks…though we know the split here is inevitable House of Torture: EVIL, SHO, Yujiro, Togo Bullet Club Japan: KENTA, Fale, Chase, Ishimori, ELP, Gedo, Jado Unknown status: GoD, Hikuleo It’s suddenly very easy to imagine a scenario where each faction goes through its own drama and leads us to a potentially huge crossover event. Say we get Jay with the Good Brothers, Kenny with the Bucks, Cole with reDragon, EVIL with a new HoT tag team, but then GoD swooping in and saying their third man is a surprise… m.youtube.com/watch?v=rhpSV4luV80Pardon that bit of fantasy booking, particularly that last part, but still, with travel restrictions to and from Japan about to ease I think there’s something with the potential to be pretty big taking shape.

In the case of AEW, I expect Cole and reDRagon to align with Bullet Club. I don't watch Impact, but I suspect that Moose needs to do a face turn and form his own faction against Bullet Club.

Hikaru Shida will make a return to Ice Ribbon at the March 20th Korakuen Hall show, she announced in a video at today’s show. She requested to tag with Tsukasa Fujimoto in a reunion of Muscle Venus. May have to jump on tickets to that >.>
That’s back to back Japan matches for Shida including TJPW on the 19th.
Tsukka after the video of Shida asking to team with her aired, damn:

Kayla Sparks made history last night!
First, she appeared in a segment with Los Lotharios on Smackdown.
Then, she answered Serena Deeb's challenge on Rampage!
HISTORY HAS BEEN MADE!

"Kayla Sparkx" being the answer to "Who was the first wrestler that appeared on AEW and WWE in the same night?" is gonna be some really weird wresting trivia going forward lol

I’d be fairly confident that Danielson has a lot of leeway in his contract for outside bookings. It was a main negotiating point as he even had gotten WWE to agree to let him work some outside dates. Plus he basically went off AEW tv for a month after that second Page match. G1 tour typically runs about 5-6 weeks; I think its very doable. But also yes, I am trying to will this into existence. It'd be huge. NJPW World would see a huge bump in subscribers like they got for Jericho and Moxley. It's a massive win for all involved.
