I, for one, welcome our new inter-promotional wrestling landscape

It's funny how WWE likes to call itself and its fans the "WWE Universe," but what we could be seeing here is a Pro Wrestling Multiverse. Just please no Crises on Infinite Squared Circles.

I mean, Kenta lives in Florida. His presence in AEW is likely just "hey, I'm around, might as well work AEW." And him and Tony being able to sell the promotional aspect to NJPW's bosses.
Expecting a full on Suzuki-gun invasion or something is unlikely at this stage. Especially with the pandemic.
Down the line, if NJPW is happy with the effect it's had on their business, (tangible growth in their viewership from the West)we may see more.

I have been side vut AEW really made itself into the anti-wwe in how they run their business. AEW is all about wrestlers being wrestlers and just going with the flow, being thenselves, long term planning and now making itself the place where wrestling all over the world meets. WWE is all about control, strict promos and characters ,short term planning and being isoleted of anything else involving wrestling.

I really do have to wonder now if Kenny Vs Ibushi for pretty much the title of God Of Wrestling wasn't the end game that was right in front of us the entire time. I feel like if it comes down to that, Kenny's going to want to put Ibushi over, which, I'd obviously be down for that. Funny enough you could say the same about Ibushi. Those two love each other that much. I dont know if it will go that far but i feel safe in saying there will be some bullet club shenanigans in the horizon

I'm a simple man. I would just like to see Eddie Kingston in a match with Tomohiro Ishii. That is all I have to add at this time. Honestly? The thing I want the most is kinda weird but, I just want Minoru to have some interaction with Jake and Arn. Just aknowledging, how awesome that would have been.

This is insane and awesome. Seeing a ME that involved AEW, Impact, and NJPW was something special. I'm excited to see where this go for sure. They could legit do a "when worlds collide" style PPV event. That featured all three would be amazing.

Down the line, if NJPW is happy with the effect it's had on their business, (tangible growth in their viewership from the West)we may see more. I think what's fair to say is that a company like NJPW very likely would want to take things slow on this, first to see how much this drives up interest in their product, and then the obvious pandemic issues that make going too crazy with this logistically nightmarish in the first place. Basically, I don't anticipate anything crazy here; if we get to the point of, say, some kind of crossover card or whatever, it'll be after a decent amount of time, successful creative/business ideas, and well-nurtured office relations. But it's still also a very real reason to get excited about things: it's easy to look at stuff like AEW working with Impact or NWA and say "it's to give a smaller promotion more exposure" and write it off, but this is a company that's currently on a larger scale and one with a built-in storyline concerning the amount of tension that exists between every faction of past and present Bullet Club members, so the implications feel that much bigger. And honestly, I hope other promotions get involved on some level, too. ROH's product has been really, really good lately, for example, and there are some one-off matches or temporary talent swaps I'd love to see with that...well, that, and I want Joey and Sonny to get to hang out with Danhausen for a little while and maybe win the six-person titles. ETA: Someone on Reddit has it right - the obvious endgame here is Shaq vs. Yano for the rights to the Yano-themed panchinko machines that NJPW must obviously be holding its 10am EST press conference about today, and by God TAKE MY MONEY NOW.

I’m excited for the potential matches, but I really don’t want this to turn into more “f*** WWE, it’s the worst thing ever” stuff.

I don't really see that anywhere and haven't seen it anywhere, this is just a really cool thing happening in wrestling. Obviously with it revolving around Bullet Club currently you're gonna get shouts out to AJ, Cole, and Balor, but like, I haven't seen this domino effect into "WWE Sucks". I's good for the environment of wrestling as a whole to work together, I love seeing bridges built.

Really is incredible that once Harold Meij left they just got down to business. I kind of wonder if that was a driving reason to why Meij inevitably stepped down. Everyone else wanted to work with AEW, he didn't, due to the conflict of interests he decided it wouldn't be under his watch anymore. Considering how quick the New Japan mentions and nods happened after he left and now we're here? It just says a lot, Meij really was the shut door.

“Forbidden Door: Demo Mode”... You get one character to play the mode with until the full release happens.

There are still plenty of decent New Japan US Wrestlers to choose from if I'm being honest with you, especially if we see the likes of G.o.D. or Cobb out of it at some point.
Also this makes Danny Limelight's fluidity much more interesting, he's been working New Japan Strong for a bit now and has a tag team partner there, but also has been making waves in AEW and has two singles wins now.

I think people obviously are excited right now, and other people are more pessimistic about it, but I will say that I am glad egos are being set aside for one thing: "IWGP US Title", "Bullet Club", and "KENTA got said on a television show with hundreds of thousands of people viewing live, with many more seeing it on DVR likely. It's trending on Twitter. Even the most curmudgeonly-inclined NJPW would have to do some major mental gymnastics to think that's anything but a great thing for the global profile of NJPW. This is the sort of exposure they haven't been able to enjoy since their collaboration with WCW, arguably. (TNA probably had more viewers, but they never were able to turn anywhere near as many of those viewers into paying customers, along with it being a very different TV landscape. So, take your pick I guess on which you think is the bigger coup.)

If we get New Japan Strong crossover exclusively for now, our possibilities are according to the roster page: ACH Adrian Quest Bateman Barrett Brown Blake Christian Chris Dickinson Danny Limelight (Already an AEW Regular) John Skyler (Has already wrestled on AEW DARK) Jordan Clearwater JR Kratos Logan Riegel Misterioso PJ Black (Injured currently) Rey Horus (Hasn't debuted yet) Sterling Riegel Alex Coughlin (Injured) Clark Connors The DKC Gabriel Kidd Kevin Knight Michael Richards (Inactive, travel restrictions) Ren Narita Shota Umino (In Rev Pro unless he comes back) Yota Tsuji Yuya Uemura We could see Team Filthy officially happen with Danny Limelight getting more of a stronghold in AEW.

Kingdom Main Event 2022, with a rematch at Revolution 2022. I feel like even if NJPW wants to get into this, I don't think they'd want to go THAT far, exactly, doing it at Kingdom. They haven't gone that far with CMLL, RevPro, or ROH. Then again, AEW's bigger than those are, so, maaaaybe. I don't think it happens, though. They did it with TNA.
