Yeah, possible that is it, or that they're going triple threat due to there not being disqualifications in triple threats.

Since Kojima's stateside, him vs Mox should happen I feel like that’s a better match up than Nagata style-wise.

Kenny losing a belt without being involved in the match’s decision would be incredibly lame. It’s one of my biggest pet peeves with triple threat matches. If Kenny loses the Impact title without being pinned it would be one of the biggest mistakes Impact has ever made and that's saying alot because it's Impact/TNA.

I wouldn't go that far, but I would call it a huge missed opportunity. And I mean, it'd rank high in their list of missed opportunities, too. Like, I'd even settle for something like Kenny being prevented from cheating by some face and Moose murders him in the confusion. Not something where Moose was handed a fluke win or anything, but where an even playing field lets him capitalize, while still leaving Kenny room to cry foul.

So the September 22nd show in NYC is called Grand Slam, as is the September 4th and 5th show by New Japan in the MetLife Dome in Japan. Could we see a crossover?

For the first time in my life (I’m old - AWA fan)) Ive actually been given some inside information.
It does have to do with the forbidden door and it will happen very soon.
Will I get in trouble if I put it on this board and on this thread?
If it’s against board policy I will keep it off the board. Or if it’s frown upon by other posters let me know. I do not know how to handle the information. It was completely by chance I heard the info.
Let me know, thanks.

The board has never frowned upon possible insider info so go ahead. It'll just lead to possible speculation and discussion if it is in fact legitimate.

I do not know how to use the spoiler tab so I just put down here what I heard and then told. If I need to delete the post I will figure it out.
I won’t say the name of the person who spoke of this out loud at the fitness center last night, because you will easily be able to trace the name back to a connection to a current AEW wrestler, but the person was speaking to another guy when I overheard the name “Hiroshi Tanahashi”. Actually the guy only said “Tanahashi” the first time but a minute later he said the entire name to a person he was working out with late last night. This person who was speaking the name Tanahashi is an old time high school buddy of a current AEW wrestler. The state this happened in is Minnesota. I won’t name the fitness center nor town.
I couldn’t really understand the conversation so I just came out an apologize and said, “I didn’t mean to eavesdrop but is Tanahashi ok? I heard you say his name and I’m a big old wrestling fan”.
The guy said “no problem and yeah he is fine”. He proceeded to ignore me which is fine because he doesn’t know who I am..which is a nobody. But pretty much everyone knows who he is and it’s not the first time someone has asked him a wrestling question at the fitness center. After about 10 minutes the guy went on with his discussion with his friend and said “Tanahashi will go back and forth for the next year. It won’t be a short stint”.
The 2 men proceeded to discuss Keto Bricks for next 15 minutes and I scooted out of there with this bit of info. I do believe I heard enough pieces to figure out Tanahashi will be making an appearance in AEW hear shortly..although I never heard the word AEW or Khan or anything that descriptive.

If there were to be a New Japan talent excursion that made sense outside of Kota Ibushi I would think Tanahashi would be very high on peoples lists.

It makes sense. Tanahashi vs KENTA next week will likely serve to determine the challenger for the IWGP US Championship at Resurgence. With Henare in the United Empire, Kota solidified as a main event fixture and Juice now a US mainstay (and in an established team with Finlay), there's not much Tana can do in the tag team scene. He's already contributed to the elevation of the NEVER Openweight Championship, and that scene will have plenty of depth with it being the new #2 title for them in Japan. New Japan came to understand through 2018/2019 that their American fans truly value their wrestlers, and don't want a mostly-autonomous American promotion stamped with the lion mark. There was no avoiding 2020 scrambling their impressive touring plans, but he'd be the perfect champion to redouble their efforts in '22.
Also Tony Khan seriously loves Tanahashi, and he's the one laid the groundwork for this at WK14 along with Jericho.

Rumors and hearsay are just that, but I mean, Tanahashi is someone who has been pretty obviously interested in showing up in AEW in some capacity. He coined "the Forbidden Door" in the first place, voicing his desire to challenge for Jericho's AEW championship at the time. He was on AEW in video for, I forget what, was it to congratulate Jericho one his years in the business or what? It's been a bit.
Beyond that, I don't know what to expect. If nothing happens, at least for now, that'd be unsurprising, but it does feel like a "when", not an "if" for Tanahashi to show up in an AEW ring.

So at Slammiversary Impact did an announcement for Bound for Glory in Vegas. At the end of the video package the logos of Impact, AEW, AAA, and New Japan were shown
