Nintendo just slapped everybody up with a 2 piece right there. I say they had the best show with Microsoft coming in second. Everybody else shoulda sat it out.

What was more interesting was the fact that it's slowly becoming clear that Geoff Keighley's vision of what "E3" is is going to become the norm at some point because he seemed to grab a good chunk of exclusives and overshadowed most of the showcases. Which I personally hate. Something about Keighley rubs me the wrong way and I don't know what it is. He's like the Ryan Seacrest of gaming and that ain't a shot against Ryan but nah I prefer big events being sponsored by what gaming is by the people who create it. With Keighley though, it's more of a "and this is sponsored by Keighley" as a namebrand which is nah, I don't rock with that.

I saw some complaints about no Pokemon stuff for this E3, but I'm cool with it. Snap came out so recently, and we already have BOTW2 for "here's a smidge of footage for you", so if Arceus and Diamond/Pearl probably don't have a ton new to show us right now, then it could easily wait.
Advance Wars, Metroid, Wario, SMT 5, the Smash fighter, that was plenty of meat.
I'd put Nintendo as my "winner", but both they and Microsoft turned in good showings. Capcom and Square, not so much, though I am sympathetic since it's not like I was exactly impressed with Ubisoft, either.

I'm not 100% for either, but at the same time, the ESA isn't exactly showing themselves to be capable of building up goodwill for conferences and the like. If they see what he's doing and would rather see him behind it rather than holding onto a place for a conference that might not come back in the same way (and many other people dropping out), it'll look like a much better alternative. The ESA has to build a lot more goodwill and figure out what a 2022 E3 looks like and attract those who have detached themselves to prevent anything like that coming. If some of the showcases were just seat warming to prevent that, it doesn't say a lot for the forward thinking with the ESA

I was going to come in here saying Nintendo’s conference was good but there really wasn’t a big system seller shown off for this holiday. But honestly, Nintendo has such a huge library of games on Switch that I think they will be okay with Diamond/Pearl and Metroid.
Speaking of that, I guess Pokemon really is going to stay to themselves from now on. Legends needs a good showing soon if it’s going to come out in January and it ended up being a complete no-show at E3.

Well, thank you Nintendo for actually treating this like a showcase instead of a last min school project

I forgot to mention, but honestly, I have a weakness for collecting mounts in games, so that Monster Hunter thing actually looks quite fun. "Monstie" is dorky, but I mean, so is Palico, even if they get away with it by being cute.

But then, E3 is a literal industry trade show. It's a weird situation.

So the last showcase of the day is Bandai Namco who, hot take incoming, they could say probably pull off a good showing with what they have already.
Announce a FighterZ character, maybe a sequel to either Kakarot/Xenoverse (the latter seems likely because 2 still going somehow and you want to make the next one for those fans), announce some new anime games and the like, throw in some Tekken and new Arc System Works stuff and job done, to be honest.

Honestly all Namco has to do is go, "Look, lookit Kazuya," and they probably get a firm second place.

I heard a rumor that all Bandai Namco's gonna show is House of Ashes so just in case I'm keeping my expectations very low.

I have to admit, I haven't seen anything like that besides the fact a developer interview is happening?

I like the trailer just making fun of how Tekken can't stop going to that damn cliff. and then Kirby just doing what Kirby does at the end >_>

Looking at the E3 twitter, it does seem to indicate that it's just House of Ashes.

I feel like doing a presentation for one single game is still probably better than Capcom.

Sort of weird but I guess those games have been a big deal for them and if the Japan side doesn't have much to show with the pandemic affecting their working practices, that's likely the best way to go with it.

Bamco really bringing it with a 14 minute presentation of one game that totally couldn't have been anything but their own show.
