Just caugth up with episode 3, great episode--but I was disappointed that Bill didn't survive and meet Ellie since I love their interactions in the game.
Should have had the episode much of the same, but with Bill either surviving his suicide attempt and deciding to keep living afterwards.
Bill dying and not meeting Ellie and Joel soured me on an otherwise solid episode.

Yeah their interactions in the game are enjoyable but I ask what purpose it would add to the shows narrative it's trying to tell? Because the point of show Bill isn't to show us how jaded and depressed he his over the whole frank situation, it's to highlight that people like Bill and Joel can still find happiness/love/purpose even in the apocalypse when it seems all hope for it was lost. And if you still prefer game Bill over his show counterpart that's fine, it's all just opinions and personal preference. But I will say I doubt show Bill even if he did survive the OD would have kept living on, he probably gives Frank a proper burial and then uses one of his many guns to finish the job

Episode 4 was pretty good. Not as good as episode 3, but still enjoyable. {Spoiler}I love that they actually bothered to shut up the, "Wait how do they still have gas?" crowd with Joel explaining they had to regularly stop and siphon fuel because of how much it had degraded by then. Also 20 year old canned ravioli...yum.

I loved this episode. A soccer mom/Karen being the leader of a violent revolution was a brilliant choice

He’s one of the rare people who got to find happiness and live in their own life in a post apocalyptic world. His message was basically the whole thesis for the show which is find someone you love and protect them

We needed an episode that was heavily focused on Ellie/Joel. And it was a good one. I love that Ellie isn’t a helpless bystander. Yeah, she’s a kid and she gets scared, because who the hell wouldnt? But when the shit goes down, whe can’t handle it. Of course, there’s a trade-off. She’s f***ed up. And Joel is, too. Bu, again, who the hell wouldnt be? That’s why that moment of them laughing together is so cathartic. Because despite how shifty things are, neither have lost their humanity.

It felt like Joel cracked a smile for the first time in forever. Ellie is a mischievous teenager but she’s still just a kid living in a f***ed up world. Even tho Joel is still a man defeated calling her “Cargo” you see the ice breaking between the two

My take on Episode 4. {Spoiler}{Spoiler}{SPOILER: CLICK TO SHOW}I will admit, I got a laugh out of the bit at the beginning with the magazine. After seeing what was done with Bill, I didn't think that was going to be added in. It also felt like Bella Ramsey studied that scene hard because the way she acted in that scene felt like a replication from the game's cutscene.
Also, the addition of the joke book is a nice touch. I wonder how the "Left Behind" episode will play out now as that bit was from that DLC.
So we're getting the Pittsburgh bit but it's not set there but rather in Kansas City. I'm not against the idea. It's supposed to show that Joel and Ellie were on the road. Speaking of which, I did like the quick cut to when Ellie said "I'm not even tired" and then it showed her sleeping.
Back to the deviation. Like I said, I accept the change from Pittsburgh to Kansas City. Even better that I liked that there is now a leader of the Hunters, along with a second-in-command. So now the Hunters are even more of a threat than before.
As for that ending, wow! What a way to close out an episode. I know that the fifth episode will be the adventure with Joel, Ellie, Henry, and Sam, which also means that I know how it will end now. But then again, given that Tess's fate was changed, maybe we'll get a different ending for Henry and Sam? We shall see.

It was a simple thing, but her ‘Seeya, dude!’ when throwing the magazine out the window showed that she was still a teenage girl, despite everything.

Loved this episode. My favorite so far. {Spoiler} I hated Kathleen. Not because she was a villain, she was just terrible. The actress sucked. I'm glad her character died.
Being a huge fan of the games, I knew what was coming with Sam and Henry and I still got teary eyed.
The infected (finally!!!) coming out of the ground like spawns from Hell was AWESOME!!!! The bloater ripping apart Perrys head the same way as in the game was a mark out moment. And the little kid clicker? Nightmare fuel.
Just when I lose interest in the show it pulls me back in.

{Spoiler}{SPOILER: CLICK TO SHOW}god. I haven't played the games, but I've watched streams of most of the sequel's gameplay, so TLOU 1 was basically unknown to me so I didn't really know Sam and Henry's fate, but to actually see it was so f***ing tragic. Between that and the infected fight, it was such an emotionally intense twenty minutes. The opposite of episode 3, because at least that was a bittersweet kind of thing, this was just tragic through and through.

I somehow held off two days watching this cause I was busy {Spoiler}{SPOILER: CLICK TO SHOW} Another really good episode.
I am really liking how much they have added to the characters furthering out their stuff with Sam and Henry as well as Bill and Frank from before
I really like how things the "side characters" have done are influencing Joel in a way it didn't happen in the game

Man one of the few times I wished they changed someone's fate. Man that episode hurt my soul Each episode has basically been a kick in the ass. I knew this was coming but they are doing a really good job of expanding the characters while minimizing some of the gameplay stuff left behind

The last 20 minutes were simultaneously the most terrifying and heartbreaking scenes of a show I've watched in a long ass time. Holy hell
